UPDATE: Did a bit more smoothing yesterday and repositioned the groove along the bottom edge of the helmet:
I'm increasingly happy with it.
I should also point out that the helmets I'm selling will include the formed, tinted, bubble lenses for the eye holes.
Post here if you'd like a kit. Or a fully-finished helmet.

First gloss coat is done:
Today I'll be filling in a couple of tiny imperfections that weren't quite visible before the gloss. Then I'll be grooving out the seam lines again before applying another gloss coat.
With any luck, I should be starting the mold this weekend. Remember, once I get the first cast out of the mold, I will no longer be offering the pre-order deal.
If you'd like to get in on this run, post here and I'll PM you with payment info.

I ran out of light red yesterday and had the helmet ready for a gloss coat. So now I present to you LIME GREEN PHASMA:
I really thought I'd nailed it, but it looks like I need a bit more filler work before I can call this thing ready to mold:
I just need to do a tiny bit more cleanup work in the grooves. On the plus side, my mold making silicone shipment arrived yesterday.

Started pouring rubber today:
So now it looks about like so:
Tomorrow I'll be adding more silicone to build up some thickness on the mold jacket. If all goes well, I should have castings coming out of the mold before the weekend.
