What did you use as reference for the back of the head? I haven't been able to see shots of it. I've got a helmet from another maker who did something different than you, I was going to ignore it but the more I see your's and other people's helmets the more I want to change it :/

What did you use as reference for the back of the head?

I had a friend at D23 snap a bunch of photos of the suit on display there. It was a bit tough to make out the exact layout of the lines, but I figured I had them about right from what I could decipher. Then, when the toys suddenly flooded stores everywhere, it pretty much confirmed what I thought I saw in the photos.

This is epic. As a 6 foot woman, the Captain Phasma costume interests me immensely however I've got my sights on a different costume at this point. The Aussie dollar conversion to US is also killing me lol. Good luck with everything - looking forward to seeing the shiny chromed version.

I've got my sights on a different costume at this point.

I can't guess what the other costume is going to be, but this will be much cooler.


UPDATE:

The rubber mold jacket is nearly done. Here's s how it looks right now with the registration keys and a final smoothing coat of silicone:


The first side of the faceplate is done as well:


Today I'll be laying up the mothermold for these pieces. Then I can flip them over and get started on the other side.

UPDATE:

As of last night, I've finished laying up the second part of the mothermold:


Today I'll be making the silicone jacket portion for the bottom of the helmet and the backside of the faceplate. Then it's one more bit of mothermold and it'll be time to roll out some kits.

Remember, I'll only be offering the pre-order deal right up until the moment I pull the first kit out of the molds.

I'm including the stands with all of the pre-orders. After I get the first helmet cast out of the mold, I won't be including them for free, but I'll offer them as raw casts for $35 plus shipping.
