Star Wars Card Games and others

I was able to order a set of the linen cards from the Solo store right before they were shut down. I was told from the owner that he will still ship them out to me. It looks like his linen set is far better than the first one he did, and no logo imprinted on the back of his deck.

Have you received that order? I ordered a deck from him back in the beginning of April and have yet to receive it. He’s also cut all contact.

His deck did really good. I was looking forward to getting it but have this gut feeling it’s not coming.

Never got it. He keeps saying that he needs a few days, even though his store said that he had 500 ready to ship. I opened a PatPal dispute before it gets too late.

Same here. Kept getting excuses as to why it never shipped. I opened up a claim and am in the process of getting reimbursed. He has a good amount of reviews with pictures so I was hoping it would work out. They looked really good.

Same here. Saw the YouTube review of someone who got one. Had faith that I would too, but....

Hopefully I’ll get reimbursed.

Thankfully we have a new run of super cool cards on here right now.

I swear I saw someone on here talking about a set from another maker where the cards were plastic / acetate, but I can't find that post again. I see an etsy shop called SmugglersCantina selling them and I'm wondering if anyone's ever dealt with them.

I’m currently feeling them out. They are using the exact same photos as TheSoloStore, same description as well. I’ll let you know how it goes.

I got the acetate set from SoloStore so I figured I would get the linen one as well. But, nope...

Yeah I might have made the mistake of ordering the Linen set from TheSoloStore (I actually got the two pack with the Rebels style decks so that's a handy 90 bucks down the drain...I'm waiting until tomorrow, if he makes even a hint of an excuse, I'm gonna open a dispute)
I might just bite the bullet and get a Spike deck printed (the Rebels one is easier) so my question is:
Is there anywhere that will already have the correct shape cutting die? I know some people here have already ordered cards from certain makers, and I'm hoping that those businesses kept the die. I'm not particularly keen on paying hundreds for a new one lmao

EDIT: I found the new project run, so that's that sorted.

That's some luck right there. I've been to GE 3 times (once during preview) and they've been out each time. I'd love to get clearer, flat shots of the instructions from the Toydarian set, if for nothing other than a convenient hand hierarchy sheet.

As an aside, I got the deck I ordered from SmugglersCantina on Etsy. Very nice. Took a minute to get from Australia to the US, but I can't complain too much. It's absolutely the same deck as folks have shared from the Solo Store.

Hey all!

I have been following this forum right from its very start and I figured now would be a good time to hop in!

TheSoloStore Corellian Spike Deck
Firstly, as several others here did as well, I put myself through the frustrating process of purchasing some products from TheSoloStore on Etsy.
I ordered his brand new 2019 edition of his Corellian Spike deck on January 1st, 2019 literally hours after he posted it.
The order said it would ship within 3-4 weeks...
After 6 excruciating months, I finally received the 2019 Corellian Spike deck with Han's golden Spike Dice!
Better yet, I ended up getting a full refund due to the extreme delay and boy are they fantastic quality cards!
After a few play tests, I can confirm that Corellian Spike Sabacc is a VERY fun card game!
Attached is "Corellian-Spike-Deck.zip" which shows a few shots I took of my deck.

Galaxy's Edge Toydarian Toymaker Corellian Spike Rulebook
I found someone who posted a fair quality slideshow of each page of the GE TT CS rulebook: Galaxy's Edge Toydarian Toymaker Sabacc Rules
I also attached the slideshow in "Galaxys-Edge.zip".
The "Gain" turn option is strange being that it actually seems to be two different options:
A) Draw a card. Period.
B) Discard a card and then draw a card.
Of particular interest to me was the scoring hierarchy for winning hands on slides 5-8.
Wookiepedia mentions each winning hand, but does not have articles for all of them yet.
GE TT Winning Hand = Our Forum's Equivalent Term

  1. Pure Sabacc = Twin Sylops / Sylop Spike
  2. Full Sabacc = Full Sabacc and also Pure Sabacc (GreenProtege)
  3. Fleet = Full Sabacc (GreenProtege)
  4. Yee-haa = None yet...
  5. Rhylet = None yet...
  6. Squadron = None yet...
  7. Gee Whiz! = Gee Whiz! / Yee-haa
  8. Straight Khyron = Straight Khyron / Straight Staves (unless exclusively defined as a run from 7 to 10)
  9. Banthas Wild = None yet...
  10. Rule of Two = None yet...
  11. Sabacc = Sabacc
  12. Nulrhek = Closest to zero (A name for any hand that is closest to zero, I mean, why not?! :D)

Custom House Rules Based On ShineAugustine and GreenProtege Google Docs
Thank you so very much ShineAugustine for more or less pioneering the rules for Corellian Spike Sabacc! :)
And thank you to GreenProtege for expanding on what ShineAugustine had initiated!
I too downloaded a copy of the Google Docs and started work on my own custom edits!
I literally spent 8 days cumulatively working on my custom versions.
In the process I watched the Solo sabacc scenes frame-by-frame, repeatedly watched the Bonus Featurette, and scoured YouTube and Google.
Eventually, I got the "Fort Ypso", "Yarith Bespin", and "Rock Lion" house rules to my personal preference after researching all known references.
I also created a new House Rule for the Mos Eisley Cantina! It focuses on the Spike Dice and borrows Galaxy's Edge Sabacc hands!
Attached are my PDFs for the four House Rules I have so far.

Credits and Coinage

Lastly, (many of you may already be aware) there is another RPF forum working on the credits, so that we actually have something to bet with:
Star Wars Credits and Coinage - References and Recreation

There is also a host of individuals and shops that sell products too.
My favorite that I have seen so far is by Synth3D on Etsy: You think it - we 3D print it. by Synth3D

I have not purchased any coin sets yet, so far I have just printed off some temporary paper copies that I then labeled.
According to the Wookiepedia Legends article titled "Galactic Credit Standard", coins were in denominations of 1, 2, and 5.
"Imperial credits existed in coins and chips of varying denominations: 0.1, 0.2, 0.5, 1, 2, 5, 10, 20, 50, 100, 200, 500, 1000, 2000 and 5000. "
Only the "Imperial Coin" and "Copper Nova Crystal Coin" have Canon-confirmed credit values.
The Solo: ASWS Official Guide specifically attributes 100 credits to the "Imperial Coin" on page 90.
In Solo: ASWS, Lando and Han each bet 2,000 credits while each placed two "Copper Nova Crystal Coins" into the Game Pot.
Therefore, "Copper Nova Crystal Coins" must have a value of 1,000 credits each.

I set the credit ingots at 150, 200, 500, and 750.
For the more alien currency (dried chak root, reptilian skin, etc.) I chose to make those in denominations of 3 e.g 3, 30, 300, 3,000, and 30,000.
Please check out the "Credit Key.pdf" attached below for a complete guide of the credit values I assigned to each currency unit.
All images of coins and ingots are attributed to Synth3D: You think it - we 3D print it. by Synth3D

I also happen to have a SolidWorks 2018 license, so I created a 3D CAD model of one of the credit ingots.
I then 3D-printed the model using white PLA at actual size (and also in gray PLA at an experimentally smaller size).
Attached is "SW-CAD-3D Models.zip" which has an image of my 3D-printed ingots and some SolidWorks 2018 part files.

Thanks all and may the Force be with you!

~MOBLCIBI

EDIT: Created a new House Rule for Mos Eisley Cantina!

Out of curiosity, where did the veshok wood slice come from? I keep noticing little Mandalorian things in the recent movies and loving that they're making more of them Canon Again

I should have mentioned that I took the liberty to propose names for each currency unit that did not yet have an official Canon name.
The following currency units are the only known to actually have been given names in Canon, all of which are named in the Solo: ASWS Official Guide:
  • Mandalorian coinage
  • Imperial coin
  • Crystalline vertex coin
  • Dried chak-root
All other currency units have names that I am proposing and are all based on articles I researched on Wookiepedia.
To directly answer your question garudasWitch and as an example of my thought process, this is how I decided on the name "Veshok Wood Slice":
Firstly, the currency unit itself looks as if it is merely a slice of wood wrapped in a leather-like material.
The fact that the other alien currencies include roots and twigs helped convince me that this object is likely wood.
Then I went to Wookiepedia's "Tree barks and woods" category and looked at every single type of wood that exists in Star Wars.
I decided that Veshok wood was the most suitable since it was a versatile, sturdy wood that seemed fairly valuable, especially in Mandalorian culture.

As soon as a Canon source officially names more currency units, I will gladly concede my proposed names and edit my Credit Key PDF.
But since there was no effort to name or give values for the currencies, I chose to do so on my own :)

Thank you for the great question garudasWitch!

And here I was hoping, but I appreciate the effort made here, and I love that it's in theme with how lightly seeded mandalorian concepts have been in the movies since TFA. Just little snippets that keep the idea alive! Thanks mate!

Hi everyone. I haven't checked back here in a long time but since Galaxy's Edge has released a new Corellian Spike Sabacc set with rules, I got excited and had to check it out. Some others might have noticed that some of the rules are a bit vague or contradict with what we've seen in other materials. I'm going to be dissecting them over the next few days and combining them with the rules we've all compiled and figured out so far, and I can update or make new Google Docs to go with them probably.

Thanks MOBLCIBI for your shout out, and honestly thanks to a lot of users who came before me, and helped share all the info that I ended up compiling for the rule sheets I typed up.

My friends and I have play-tested those rules we were using many times and found various preferences for certain ones over others, so I might leave some notes about that in the rule sheets when I update. Also I want to simplify/clarify the betting phase explanations.

The most exciting thing about seeing the Galaxy's Edge set rules is that now we know what some of the hands are that we previously could only speculate (like a Yee-Ha, Pure Sabacc, and others). I'm glad that now I'll be able to differentiate those and add those into the list of winning hands.

There are afew things I take issue with in the Galaxy's Edge set rules, which I think will need some consideration and maybe more play-testing to figure out how I'll address them in my rule sheets that I shared.

1. The explanation of what to do when you gain a card during your turn is worded very confusingly, so I need to look further into that and figure out exactly what they meant and whether it is relevant to any of the prior rule versions we've seen.

2. The winning hands have inconsistent scoring values for tie-breakers, where some hands are listed as being better off with lower integers (which the rulebook consistently misspells "intergers", so the level of scrutiny before publishing these is already suspect) while some hands are better off with higher values. It isn't consistent, and in all previous rule versions we've seen the higher value cards always have preference in tie-breakers, which to me makes sense, since keeping high value cards in your hand is a greater risk (puts you way further from zero than low value cards, if you don't get the right cards to balance them). I think this is something that the Galaxy's Edge version sort of dropped the ball on and may need to be contested/done differently for more playable house rules. It sort of breaks the gameplay strategy if SOME hands are more beneficial with low cards while SOME are more beneficial with high cards, and I think it makes hand ranking unnecessarily complicated and devalues the face cards (which begs the question of why they have special face designs if they build less valuable hands). If you don't understand what I'm saying, these rules basically state, for example, that a Full Sabacc (10, 10, -10, -10, 0) is worth more than a Fleet, but a Fleet with 9s (9, 9, -9, -9, 0) is worth less than a Fleet with 1s (1, 1, -1, -1, 0). This feels inconsistent. Why does the 10 represent the best outcome in this pattern while the 9 represents the worst? Also, a Straight Khyron with the high valued face cards (10, -9, -8, 7) is beaten by one with low valued cards (4, -3, -2, 1). This feels, at first look, unjustified when compared to the deck design and other game mechanics. This is also one of the hands we see Han win with in Solo:ASWS. He calls it "straight staves" and has the 10, -9, -8, 7 run of it, and we are supposed to be impressed. It doesn't really seem suited to the scene if what he played was actually the lowest version of that hand. Why wouldn't he have gone for a better version of it?

3. There's also the issue that in the GE set only the positive values are counted when tie-breaking certain hands. I will need to compare this with various other sources we've looked at for rules in the past and try to figure out what seems more appropriate.

I'll be checking back in later with some updated rule suggestions.

For now, here are some screenshots of the new rules from a Youtube video I found. They are a little clearer than the ones MOBLCIBI shared, but also not squared up properly. Just sharing them in case anyone wants to see. Here is the video they are from:
