Star Wars blu ray in September

Revenge of the Sith Vader as the cover art for the OT? I am ugh-ing over here. Still gonna buy this though as I don't need to look at the covers. :p

This cover says a lot about how Lucas sees Star Wars. To him, Star Wars is the prequel trilogy and everything that takes place during and before it. The original trilogy is just there because it helps him remember how much he can rip himself off.

Good grief that box cover approaches the sort of surrealistic Holiday Special levels of badness I was talking about earlier. What the hell's going on? The French Impressionists go to Tatooine where they suddenly forget how to paint. Claude Monet does Star Wars but appallingly badly - look at the anatomy problems on the kid. I've seen better images on used toilet paper, yet I fear it's actually some sort of attempt at High Art...

Doesn't make much sense either since Anakin didn't leave from the homestead, but some slave quarters some place else. Damn that box art is horrible, I was hoping for something really awesome for this, like the backside of Hasbro's 30th anniversary coin album.

I hope that box cover is just a joke. Like everyone else is saying, it's beyond bad. I think an elephant could do a better job. Not sure where Lucas' head is or who even okayed that, but :sick

The twin suns are too far apart too.

I would have been cool with the initial placeholder art on Amazon. Just flat black with maybe some silver etched font that simply said STAR WARS COMPLETE SAGA or something.

I don't know why they continue to digress in quality of the cover imagery. The classic posters were awesome. The Special Edition posters were decent. From there and beyond I just really couldn't swallow the design choices they made. The cover to this saga package seems so concept-looking and doesn't give me a feeling of complete to me.

Oh well... It's the stuff inside I will be watching. Just not too proud of how the packaging was chosen. I'm sure there'll be a cool fan version box art someone will make, haha!

Han doesn't even shoot FIRST. Han shoots Greedo. The end. No first, just shoots. Greedo never got off a shot, let alone first.

You keep saying that over and over and over again... :rolleyes

Han had a GUN pointed right at him. Greedo was GOING to SHOOT him. However blabber mouth that he is Greedo just couldn't shut his yap for two seconds to do what he planned to do (which is to, you know... SHOOT Han).

So because Greedo suffered from verbal diarrhea... Han SHOT Greedo FIRST.

As in BEFORE Greedo could SHOOT Han.

The way you describe it you make it sound like Han plugged him for just saying hi or something.---

Greedo: "Oh hai Han-"

BLAMMO!

:lol ;)

The complete saga cover is a great concept, but the execution is ridiculous. Like someone said, bad high school art. BUT it will stand out on the retail shelf.

I can't fathom how Lucasfilm, with all its artists and talent, can't find or hire someone who knows how to wield a physical paintbrush. From composition to technique to finished product, that cover art is repulsive.

Illustration, as we knew it, is dead.

I can remember looking through the Art of Star Wars book as a kid, thumbing through the poster art section, and going ape over all the different, yet wonderful, poster art done to market the original film in each country. Different artists with wonderful interpretations of the themes, yet each one capturing the spirit of the film with real paint media.

The individual boxes look like they were photoshopped by someone who never saw Star Wars. The complete set looks like it was digitally painted by someone who hates Star Wars.

They probably were. By some kindergartener that Lucas picked.

Am I the only person who saw the box art and instantly thought "what the heck is Admiral Ackbar doing there"?

That art is crap. I would love it if they made new art like this picture below.

Then I know its lazy but they should just use the original poster art for the individual discs.

At least its better than the awful look they chose. Two thumbs way down...

Come, on! Maybe there is a story behind that artwork.
Like it was from a Make-a-Wish kid or something?
Or one of Lucas's kids?
So sad. I mean, I really like Star Wars and the sequels.
Both of them!
What happened?
Meanwhile, I will probably not be able to resist having them on Blu-Ray HIgh Definition, just for looking at details of stuff.

Davy Jones: I really like that art, except that Luke has a bad haircut and he should, to my mind, be at least as prominent as Princess Leia. And more prominent than Lando. And Tarkin... In that, he sort of disappears into Vader/Kin's shadow.
