Star Wars blu ray in September

Ah... yeah... for some reason I jumped to conclusions that it was some form of porn. Oh well... hell... even porn would be better.

I'm assuming he'll have been adding new cg bits to replace the old stuff, like he changed the cg jabba in the han scene for instance, which is good as the first version was awfull.
Imagine the end scene of jedi now, we used to have anakin yoda and ben, now there'll be a massive pull back and everyone will be young. padme, jarjar, the crews of both death stars, everyone sitting around drinking margarita's, what fun.
Does anyone know if he's replaced that awful yoda puppet in phantom menace? i'm usually against replacing practical with cg, but this needs doing as that monkey faced thing was awfull

I'm glad to watch any changes that GL or fans come up with, but I don't get the same feeling watching THE star wars that I saw in 77, 80, and 83, and when I really want to watch SW, it's to recapture that feeling.

Just wish they would keep a small snippet of the Yub Yub Song!!!

And cut out the new dance scene in Jabba's Palace... PLEASE!

The biggest crime in my mind though was the change in dialogue between the Emperor and Vader in ESB. Just wrong as it changes the entire story. I can live with most of the rest (oh, and Han shot first!).

Han did not shoot FIRST.

HAN SHOT GREEDO. Under the table with malice and forethought. Murder plain and simple.

Enough of this SHOT FIRST crap.

We liked it that way.

He gave Greedo a chance. To live and get paid.

Greedo was about to murder Han. Han merely out thought him. There was never "BRUTAL COLD MURDER" there was kill or be killed.

And that made Han INSTANTLY cool IMHO.

Nothing really.

It's simply what happened.

More fannish lunacy that warps things into being.

Kirk never said "Beam me up Scotty" either.

I stand corrected... This post SE world has gotten to me!

Han indeed was the only one to shoot in that scene of A NEW HOPE :angel

I'm one of the biggest star wars fans you'll find in my age group (fan since i was 7 so around 16 years) and i still don't understand why everyone gets so worked up about all this SE guff....it really is quite pathetic...

yelling and screaming at the internets about it isn't going to change anything, george will do what he will do, and i respect that its his decision to make and no one elses. The very reason he is independant of "the system" is so that he can make his movies exactly the way he wants, and if the tech of the time didn't allow that, then he has every right to make changes when it does become available....

None of this 'arguing' has truley answered the question as to why GL continues to deny what fans really want.

Should Picasso have painted only what his fans wanted?

Should Bob Dylan have stuck to folk music because his fans wanted it?

I'm not saying you've got to like the SE versions, but I don't understand people demanding George make changes because "the fans" want it.

It is what it is, and at the end of the day, it's George's universe to do with as he pleases.

GL is by no mean independent of the system.

He IS the system.

Think about how many movies depend on his various companies.

any way to buy just episodes 4-6, the ALien series was remastered/redone, but in those movies the magic wasnt taken away just omitted scenes added and mistakes corrected, the OT was butchered with the Han Greedo scene change and the crappy cgi skinny Jabba , as for ET being ruined by removal of guns, well spielberg should pay for this crime, why not straighten out the leaning tower of Pisa or make the Mona Lisa a blonde

true lots of people use ILM and skywalker sound but that's irrelevant to this discussion

he is an independant film maker for all intents and purposes, separate from the studio system. It means he gets the final say on what happens in star wars films, not a bunch studio execs...

I am quoting this for Truth:

I'm glad to watch any changes that GL or fans come up with, but I don't get the same feeling watching THE star wars that I saw in 77, 80, and 83, and when I really want to watch SW, it's to recapture that feeling.

And this too:
