I really doubt these will be identical to the already released DVDs.
As for what's different in the SE theatrical release and the DVDs: modified color (that doesn't work very well with the lightsabers in several scenes), Boba's new accent, Jabba gains some weight, the Rancor loses it's matte lines... and that's really all I remember.
Some of the changes in the 04 DVD release were a rush job, done to meet a release date to combat foreign bootlegs.
Plus, I already own those on DVD and can upconvert them... I'll call that good enough, unless this new version is fixed.
What's Star Wars?
$50 dollars off on Amazon? Can't argue with that. Pre-ordered.
Awesome! Did the press release say if the OT was Special Edition or Original Recipe?
Lucas said that the original trilogy films included on the Blu-Ray release will be the remastered special editions. He explained:
“Releasing the originals is kind of an oxymoron because the quality of the original is not very good. You have to go through and do a whole restoration on it, and you have to do that digitally. It’s a very, very expensive process to do it. So when we did the transfer to digital, we only transferred really the upgraded version.”
I'm a purist, and I respect a filmmaker's original vision, so I find Adywan's "stuff" to be quite offensive.
Shouldn't you be picking a fight in another thread?
Nah, 'cause even though you'll be running 'round and 'round in circles, trying not to get hit, Mic, Larry or someone else, will swoop in and knock ya out.
You're more of a James Blunt, in my opinion... heh.
No more SE for me. I am not wasting any more money on that crap. God I wish Spielberg could talk some sense into his quality challenged friend. Give the fans what they want.

I call BS. He'd make buckets of money with yet another box set... One I'd actually buy.
Charge $150 for just the three restored films, no special features. I'd still stand in line.
