Star Wars Ahsoka (tv series)

Interesting new rumors are floating around, probably not true, but ONLY SPECULATION...

Thinking that aspects of the Heir to the Empire trilogy could be mined for current stories, folks are trying to figure out if there'll be a Luuke-type clone anywhere, & the 2 prevailing possibilities are either Marrok or Shin Hati being a female clone, similar to X-23's relationship to Wolverine/Logan.

Only speculation, but I thought it'd chap some behinds here. LOL

Could we be getting the "story for another time" about how Maz came into possession of Luke's saber?

I was confused about this as well, so thank you also.
Yes, this is a first. So far all previous events took place in the same galaxy. Other shows have introduced other galaxies before, like Stargate, BSG and Star Trek.

It was probably swallowed by a space whale who happened to roam around Cloud City.

One point of clarification: If Marrok turns out to be Starkiller, that DOES NOT mean that the Force Unleashed is canon. There are too many story conflicts with established canon, and Starkiller is overpowered as it is.

Filoni has a history of retconning things and characters from the EU and bringing them into Clone Wars and Rebels. If we see Starkiller, he'll be a little different.

Hmmm…I wouldn’t be against that, honestly. I think it’s better than forcing Starkiller into canon.

Well, that felt exactly like an episode of REBELS. Mostly clarifying exposition, some story development, but I thought the action was great.

Loved the training as well as the discussion of what's trying to be accomplished.

Solid episode for me.

Maybe it is just me, but that whole action sequence with the fighters could have been so much better, but it just turned into a typical no consequences with no real threat style that epitomized Rebels. Yes I get that Rebels was a cartoon for kids, and this seems to have the same mentality, but just live action instead. And I am fine with that, but...

The space walk was just dumb. Why did they even bother shooting at her, let alone have to fly close enough to even let her take swings at them with the lightsaber? They should have been able to make quick work of the disabled craft by just ignoring the Jedi (sorry, Jedi no more)

And how did she get in that space suit so quickly with everything nicely covering her "hair" or whatever you want to call it

And for some reason those guns on the ring can only shoot in one direction??? It is just to much to shoot the other direction and finish off a disabled ship

I get that you can't kill off the heroes, but at least make us believe they are in real danger

I still hold out hope for the show, I guess I can always just switch off or tune out during the contrived attempt to create tense dramatic action sequences

I mean it started out really good. They had some music that felt right at place in any Star Wars battle, or chase from the original trilogy. The fighters were in pursuit, lots of cool action, then it just totally went off the rails. They should have just skipped the whole disabled sequence and gone straight to escaping through the space whales.

overall I would rate it a C+ to B range

Agreed, felt just like an episode of Rebels

Solid episode, probably my favorite of the 3 so far. The dialogue wasn't as weirdly paced, the editing had more life to it. Great action and charm that made me smile. I thought Ahsoka in space was wicked — right out of Clone Wars/Rebels.

Still enjoyed Sabine a lot, and it's nice seeing the dynamic between her and Ahsoka develop. And while Ahsoka herself shows a bit more life in this episode...she's still as dull as a door nail. Why is she the most boring character on the show? You can still be stoic but show signs of personality and life...

And man, what a tragedy to have lost Ray Stevenson so early. That man has such a magnetic presence on screen. He just stands there looking cool and doesn't say anything, and I'm locked in. Baylan is such a rad character, I'm itching to learn more about him.

I'm thrown off slightly by the character ages now. Rebels started ~ 5 years BBY and Sabine was 16 then. The show ended it's run when Sabine was ~ 19/20 years old, but still before BBY. Sabine looks like she's still college age now, but in this timeline, ~ 9 years after BBY , Sabine is supposed to be 29 or 30 (Australian actress Natasha Liu Bordizzo is 29).

Also, Sabine is Mandalorian and has Mandalorian training. Ahsoka said that wouldn't be "enought", but Sabine USED the Dark Saber with Kanan Jarrus! Can't understand how she's having trouble "fighting" now.

Everyone is hyping marrock, I bet he’s nothing but a throw away character..

They really want to make this actress “happen”…

If not Ezra, my money is on this being “Marrock Unmasked”:

I think what Ahsoka means by "enough" is that she knows Sabine can be an even stronger warrior, utilizing the force to anticipate enemies and improve her reflexes. She knows she's already a very gifted warrior when it comes to the weaponry itself, but that can only get you so far. She also sees Sabine still struggling with the demons of her past, and her stubbornness, anger, impatience, and frustration at the world. She hopes that through the discipline of Jedi training Sabine will have a clearer spirit and sharper focus.

As for her background with the dark saber — Kanan had trained her enough to not make a fool of herself, but she never mastered it. She didn't wield it for very long before passing it over to Bo-Katan. We don't know how much saber training she had with Ashoka before they're falling out, but it's clear she hasn't used one in a long time and she's super rusty.

Has Disney said anything about the numbers for this show? They usually always come out quick bragging about how popular their shows are.

Pretty clear where next episode goes given what we’ve seen in the trailers. Sabine fights Hati in the forest. Ahsoka fights Baylan at the alter. Clearly the hyperspace ring is for Thrawns Star destroyer. We’ve seen him on the bridge of the ring.

This was cool to see though

I laughed out loud at the spacesuit with the lekku cut-outs. Also, Sabine fixed that ship pretty fast all by herself (Han and Chewie couldn't even fix the Falcon's hyperdrive for an entire movie). I guess she too "bypassed the compressor". :lol

Definitely a better episode than the first two. Some cool moments (but again PACING!) like the Jedi training, and Sabine using the rear turret. Cool to see Chancellor Mothma, but the senators’ attitudes really don’t make me care for the New Republic at all. Am I supposed to be rooting for the empire to return or what?

Marrok…The only interesting aspect of the character is that we are to assume it HAS to be someone that will be revealed. I wonder how much Filoni is banking on getting a second season of this show? I don’t foresee a lot of loose end tie up within these episodes.

Nothing to complain - except for the short runtime. Music was terrific (as with the first two eps) and I liked Ahsokas new outfit. The colours were really nice.

Absolutely! The way things are progressing I could see this: Ahsoka and Sabine will remain on the planet for the rest of the season, trying to stop the ring from being completed. In episode 4 they are trying to avoid the hunters but eventually get captured, in episode 5 they are brought before Elsbeth and episodes 6 - 8 deal with them escaping and calling for help. I would not be surprised if we see more inept behaviour of the New Republic counsil. In the final episode Hera will certainly say, "screw it", and go on an unauthorized rescue mission. So we might expect to see the Ghost only in the final 5 minutes of the final episode. Which is perfectly sound with the timing of the new Haslab (which will be over two weeks before the Ghost appears on screen and which will not get a boost of backers because of this). ;)

Of course there will be a (short) space battle, Ahsoka faces Baylan, Baylan probably gets killed (DAMN, it is such a shame that Ray is no longer with us, I would put his character in a line along with Count Dooku and Luthen; I would have loved to see more of him). Shortly before the the ring is destroyed by the Ghost it becomes operational and Elsbeth jumps to Thrawn's universe. Before she escapes we might see Marrok beside her on the bridge, she says something noteworthy, Marrok takes his helmet off (and we all will be shocked to see Ezra's face, and even more when we hear him call her "Mother" ;) ). Final scene of the final episode: Thrawn steps out of the shadow (the scene from the trailer), Elsbeth arrives and she says "My Admiral, I am here to take you home." Fade out and end credits. Season 2 on the way.

Yeah seemd pretty wierd to have that space suit. I think they debated on this, making a fishbowl or what we got, and to be honest I would have gone the same route. The fishbowl might work in animation but in reality it limits your movement significantly; defiting the purpose of a spacewalk aciton scene. Can you imagine how large of a fishbowl would they have to make to fit her head piece?
