I think they are the original releases, not the new remastered ones.

I just looked it up and the enhanced digital effects are an angle option on these discs, as both versions are on here.

You can pick both versions. I have the first season and it's absolutely great. Highly recommended for Trek fans.

Ordered all three seasons last night. Very good deal for the enhanced Blu-Ray season sets and they include some nice extra footage and goodies too. Now, what to do with all the previous version I own?

Too bad we'll never see anything like this for Next Gen. The original quality is horrible... :cry I have the DVDs and they're not much better than the VHS copies I had previously.

well you never know.... and then again some of the effects in those episodes were pretty good with only some of it being bad. the original TOS effects were just !#$%ty all over the place and have been SCREAMING to be remastered. I wouldnt mind a TNG remastered though. Dont expet this thing for Voy, ENT, or DS9 though... theyre good enough being left alone for all we care.

"Upconverting" crap is still just clearer crap. All the enhancing in the world won't help... unfortunately.
