My light is blinking one flash for “YES” on this comment.
I think your wife is 100% correct.

I wasn’t thinking of the movies when I posted it. And though it wasn’t the greatest movie and had lots of eye roll moments, I’m an unapologetic fan of that movie. That ship is my favorite iteration of any of them.to each their own. I think Star Trek Beyond felt like Trek. Was the best of the JJ films.
What an awful episode. Stealing the Enterprise? A long drawn hallway fistfight a-la Daredevil? An emotionally charged rescue from the vacuum of space a-la GOTG? How ****ing original.
When you put it like that…It’s Fast Food Star Trek…. I adjust my expectations accordingly.
My boys, the Pakleds! The 21st century humans placed in the 24th century…
Why do I have this weird feeling that in the last episode of Strange New Worlds we will find out they’re in a different timeline, or maybe an alternate reality. Then they can justify all the things that don’t make sense.
Kinda like Patrick Duffey walking out the shower.
According to Robert Meyer Burnett, they pretty much confirm that this is the case, this season, in an upcoming episode.
There was a time when Spock was the only Vulcan in Starfleet.
Treadwell agrees with me, and he’s always right. No there wasn't, that's always been a fan myth.

My "likes" carry more weight than I realized. I'm not sure I can handle that much responsibility!Treadwell agrees with me, and he’s always right.
I think that you are correct.
I believe it wasn’t until the mentioning of the USS Intrepid in “The Immunity Syndrome” that other Vulcans were mentioned as being in Starfleet and it was part of what made him special.
Either that, or I’m confusing him with Worf as the only Klingon in Starfleet.
