Since they are trying to attract series viewers, it would be common sense to stick with series canon.
Demographics are very broad for TV Trek. 1960s-2000s right? Odds are someone tuning in would have been fan of at
least one series at some point and want continuity of some kind.

Please Gods of the entertainment world. We can't have Nemesis be "the one true" conclusion to this franchise. We can't do it!
But hey, TOS movie era uniforms? Yes please.

This all sounds like really good news to me. I'm all for the timeframe of this and potential conflicts between the Federation and Qo'nos would always good Trek to me, if that could possibly be in it! I do hope they have a decent budget for the sets, props and special effects. But I'm mostly interested in getting some info on casting.
The anticipation is almost the best part of this!
P.S. Best news is that it's not a continuation of JJVerse.

Yep. Do that and I don't care where in time they want to put the show. It's a big galaxy after all full of potentials in any era.

I heard from my friend at paramount that snoop will be doing partial soundtracks for the new series, he said he signed up for a 1 year deal, and when I say Snoop, I mean Dogg...

You know..
Modern Hollywood is so bad at making decisions with tentpole franchises...
I'd NOT be surprised.
I also expect them to find a perfectly preserved ford motor car and be amazed at the front and back camera angles...making a joke 'we should get these for the enterprise'..

Well not much to gleam.
"New Crews. New Villains. New Heroes. New Worlds."
The use of the recognizable original theme is a good sign. The traditional vector as well.
CrewS as in more than one crew will be focused on I assume?
Villians? well we expect bad guys but the opening of TOS was about exploring in peace, not seek out new bad guys to fight. But I won't read too much into that yet.
Heroes sure. Trek offers a wide variety of them generally.
New worlds. OK well let's explore some on this trek to the stars for a change eh? LOL
