Star Trek Beyond

Crickets chirping. So close to release, and hardly a blurb. They know this is going to fall...hard. So sad.

It's not like Paramount has been putting much faith in the film. Paramount Pictures had their own presentation at Cinemacon last week complete with JJ Abrams and Simon Pegg on hand. So when he's on stage, JJ says Lin is producing an exciting Star Trek movie...That's it. No new footage or updates. That's Paramount's handling of Star Trek's 50th Anniversary right there folks. Barely a mention of Star Trek Beyond and only ONE of the original 10 films is getting remastered.

When is the release date for this again? Shouldn't there be another trailer. I just remember Pegg's reaction after the last one. I hope it gets better then the disaster film fest of the last trailer. That's why 2 and 3 will always be the best. Story. Lots of story. Action sprinkled in, but the story kept you on the edge.

Currently the release date in the U.S. is July 22, 2016, but they could change that in the next three months.

Gotta say I laughed at his fabulous outfit. Is this a musical? Did they ditch the Enterprise for the HMS Pinafore?
Maybe Captain EO is picking outfits.
Chekov is wearing the same outfit. Tactical suit? Cold weather gear? They are the very model of two modern Major-Generals?

I don't know nor have I seen any real promotion for this movie other than the trailer which was chaotic at best. It REALLY surprises me seeing Paramount be so quiet during the 50th Anniversary?

Given that there's a big Troll Poster right ahead of this Star Trek entrance, I couldn't be helped but be reminded of this little tidbit.

"Oh, no. If I told them once, I told them a hundred times to put Spinal Tap first and puppet show second."

2 months until this movie is released and nothing. Not a word. A teaser. A teaser for a teaser. Just that one solo trailer that got everyone extremely irritated. Only thing I can think is the director, editors, and producers are scrambling to re edit the film or something. I'm just amazed. It's not like there is a whole lot coming out of this studio at the moment that they couldn't give us something.

In the last film they turned Klingons into, god knows what and now Spock's eyebrows are starting to look very "human" :confused

Yeah, that was another thing i didn't bring up. the whole change of the klingons. it's odd.they use the classic ship design in the kobiyashi maru sequence in one, and then go and completely change them into an over designed mess in two.

you know, it's odd. I didn't think of that until you mentioned it. it's exactly like feigbusters. one trailer long ago, and nothing. only in feigbusters case, I think they used all the funny parts in the first one, if the international one is any indication. they probably figure another trailer won't help.

With star trek, you'd think they'd be putting this all over the place.

then again, they ARE going back to the ORIGINAL universe for the tv show. a super odd decision, since once a reboot takes over, they almost never go backwards.

I started re-watching Star Trek: Enterprise recently and was surprised that T'Pol's eyebrows were very "human" looking as well.

I've read Jolene Blalock was a Trek fan and was disappointed that T'Pol's eyebrows and ears weren't traditionally Vulcan, so between seasons two and three she and makeup supervisor Micheal Westmore decided to change her eyebrows and ears to make her look more Vulcan, and no one on the production mentioned it. :lol

Knew she was a fan but that I did not know :lol kudos to her! Got to buy the last two seasons of Enterprise on blu-ray already. I own all 7 seasons of TNG and just the first two of Enterprise :)
I had to do a google image search and she looks quite different from season to season. Have to mention Michael Westmore, what a talented guy :thumbsup

Only seen JJTrek 2 once and to be honest I wasn't even sure/convinced those really were supposed to be Klingons. Because in the first one, in the behind the scenes the Klingon make-up looked like it is supposed to.
