Star Trek Section 31 Reviews Are Starting to Roll In...

The main problem with season one of TNG was Roddenberry. He was running things...into the ground.

All of his self-destructive behaviors caught up with him.

Roddenberry was just too far past his peak by TNG. It happens.

What strikes me today is that I don't see any attempt to maintain the ST brand's identity. They keep throwing random crap at the wall to see what people will watch and it just gets more embarrassing.

They might as well do a CSI cop show with phasers, if viewership is the only priority. Why not? They could give Shatner a guest-star appearance and make a bunch of TJ Hooker jokes about his hairpiece. Would it be any worse than what they're doing now? It would probably get more viewership.

Flash in the pan. Here and gone, like cotton candy. A big sugar rush, but ultimately too sweet and makes you sick. Not memorable.
