It is doable- it's just a lot of work. It doesn't hurt to have access to some heavy-duty sewing machines, either...

AMAZING! I've always loved the weirdness of this jacket and how a young Kirstie Alley looked in it . Most people tremble in fear at even the mention of this jacket and replicating it, but you totally kicked it's ass.

What you've really got me thinking about now is what other outfits I like from that era of Trek, that I haven't seen anyone re-create: McCoy's civvies from TWOK, David's outfit from Search for Spock, the red engineering rad-suit, the standard crew jumpsuit from TWOK onward... there are lots of possibilities.

We got to wear these at SDCC 2011- the weather cooperated, so we didn't die of heat stroke. We had a great time- here are a few pictures:

Unofficial theme this year? Can't be a coincidence...

I remember it being so much bigger...

And finally, not sure who these people were, but they insisted in being photographed with us...

(OK, maybe we did know...)
