There's a job for you: craft (kraft?) services a board a Klingon vessel. Hey, wait, we do know that the cold war between the Federation and Klingons was over Cheez Whiz, so... I wonder...

Our favorite Klingon model from the old days just joined Facebook and posted this costume we made for his profile. It's a little blurry, but I think it still looks good. :D

This was made like the extras costumes on the show, with hydem upholstery welting instead of the turbo expensive rolled leather strips. The girls who played Lursa and B'etor actually asked him once how he got it off the set! :lol

(Huh! Looks like we hadn't added his lanyard yet...)

How was the trim done on TMP vests and even the later versions? I have heard resin impregnated felt and also heard aluminum was used. I was also recently told that the back scales and baldric pieces were aluminum that was shaped by hammering them over a form. If resin impregnated felt was used for the trim..how is that accomplished? Any information about any of this? Thanks in advance :thumbsup

There was no aluminum used on the armor. The original trim was indeed resin impregnated felt with rub n buff. The back scales are molded polyurethane and sometimes even molded rubber (for stunts) but NEVER shaped aluminum. The trim on the boots was aluminum for TMP but later was actually very thick leather painted to look like aluminum.
The felt trick was pretty simple. You cut out your shape and you coat in resin then clean it up, paint it add the rub n buff voila! Pretty work intensive and silly IMHO for something that more easil accomplished when they statred just cutting out the pieces from materials like linoleum and/or thick vinyl. Same effect less work. what was used on the baldrics is covered in detail earlier in thsi thread I believe. 2 types of commercially available maile over a form with helmet bands from CHiPS helmets and hand made insignia.

Another question since all of the help here is sooo amazing. I am wanting to make a replica of this sheath for display. Can anyone tell me the process to make it or share any information? Thanks!
