Spiderman web shooter: A collaborative project.

Re: Spiderman web shooter: A collaborative project. Now with wiring diagrams!

Oh I love it! I actually think that the size is perfect; especially considering the space needed for the leads. I was thinking of applying a waterslide decal on the surface to simulate the wavy leads of the chip; just need to wait till monday! Any progress on lighting her up?

Looks good, keep it up! It's exciting to see progress like this!

the wrist bands are very simple if you have a sewing machine you need beige thick cord thread (like used for jeans) a bronze zipper (again jeans) brown pleather and bronze snap poppers then sew it together i found all the stuff for like 15 quid just need to wait till money comes in to even order the shooters lol

I forgot to plan on how to make those leads!:facepalm The decal sounds like a good idea, I'd like to see how that turns out.

No progress yet, but I may be able to get to it later in the day Saturday, or on Sunday. As far as the electronics go though I think I have everything I need to light this project up!:)

Re: Spiderman web shooter: A collaborative project. Now with wiring diagrams!

so i know i came a little late to the party but i had these parts printed they should be here within two weeks, although i modeled the small circular disc to fit in the middle of the faceplate, i had it printed in transparent detail, i will post pics of how it works out and post a download link if anyone wants it, also i made this chart using the models by epilepticsquirl to help those of you who are confused of how to paint your web shooters, these are the movie accurate options :) thanks again to everyone for making this thread a better place for people like me who are still children at heart lol ;)

@MercyFlush LMAO xD Oh god, I can see more and more people coming in saying the same thing :T

Re: Spiderman web shooter: A collaborative project. Now with wiring diagrams!

So I went to go order these from some random guy's Shapeways shop, and now they're not there... :lol :lol :lol I kid, I kid!

My pieces arrived today! I haven't gotten a chance to crack open the box yet, but I will hopefully get some time tomorrow to get started on these :D

Thanks again for doing this, Andrew!

Re: Spiderman web shooter: A collaborative project. Now with wiring diagrams!

Hey guys, I have a decent progress update. A little later than planned, but better late than never ;)

UPDATED CIRCUIT- actually fits within the space limit, with one exception.

Close-up of the circuit, without and with the battery.

Lilypad LED placement

1. Inactive, no cartridge/not pressing button = no red/ green light

2. Cartridge installed (a magnet, for now)= green light. Web meter full :D

3. Switch held down= red light

4. Let go of the switch, and the red light turn off. Take away the magnet and the green light turns off.

Essentially it works as intended :)

Some improvements will need to be made that include but are not limited to the battery and the momentary switch, but I'll get into that more tomorrow.

Re: Spiderman web shooter: A collaborative project. Now with wiring diagrams!

Looks great! :thumbsup

It's about time someone got some decent progress on this thing... :lol :)

Re: Spiderman web shooter: A collaborative project. Now with wiring diagrams!

Aerialink that's amazing that you got it to work! I'm even more jealous with how neat you have everything fitted! Way cleaner than what I got going on that's for sure. :thumbsup
When I do my other shooter I'll be following your build!
It's funny you posted that because I've got similar news as you have.

Did a quick test of my soldering job and here's what I came up with:

Are we talking about the same member whose entire shop seems to have vanished? :lol

Hopefully with the help of this thread you'll have a pretty decent "Tutorial" on how to build these puppies.
And people are whining about the lack of tutorials on this board. :rolleyes:lol

Yes! I saw his post earlier today and clicked the link... Once to his "shop" I said to myself "that won't be up very long..." :lol

I'm looking forward to seeing how you incorporate the batteries.

Seeing yours and the other members who have theirs all painted up makes me want to do the same! We have some great long shooters on here.

Re: Spiderman web shooter: A collaborative project. Now with wiring diagrams!

Yea that's still the tricky part. I've been eyeing those tiny hearing aid batteries; figured I could run the batteries in parallel to get a longer operating life. Still playing around with it though; I think that's half the fun to be honest!

Re: Spiderman web shooter: A collaborative project. Now with wiring diagrams!

Wow. That's really great! Too bad you couldn't make it so that the green LEDs go down the more times you press the button. It goes down one LED every 30 pushes like you were running out of fluid. Then you'd have to put a "new" cartridge in to get all the LEDs back on.

Re: Spiderman web shooter: A collaborative project. Now with wiring diagrams!

What battery do you have in there at the moment?

cr2032?

Yep, that is what is in there at the moment. I also have some LR44 button cells that I was trying to use, but making the batteries easy to access/install/ and replace is the challenge ( as epilepticsquirl had said).
