Spat Aliens Spulse Rifle - Upgrades!

Re: Spat Aliens Spulse Rifle WIP - Done-zo!

Thought about making one like in the game Aliens: Colonial Marines?

Parts have been drilled, prepped, painted, and cleared.

Also made the rear sling attachment ring by bending a U out of some 1/8" brass rod. I'll drill two corresponding holes into the rear of the shroud and epoxy the rod in. Then this one will (once again) be done! ...For now :D

And here she is, all done! Now I'm finally able to attach my noble sling :)

The sling attachment points make it sit a bit uneven off the metal grate, so I'll need to see what I can do to have longer hooks that hold it up, so it sits further away from the wall.

I've also got a few Spat grenades coming soon too, so I'll need to figure a way to mount those as well

Re: Spat Aliens Spulse Rifle WIP - Done-zo!

Here are the upgraded parts I picked up from Phil... The barrel vent shroud and the barrel triangle with ring.

The vent shroud was squared off at the back, but I had to trim it down at an angle to fit my resin gun. The barrel pictured is just some 1/2" aluminum tube cut to size. I'm about to drill a couple holes in the vent and triangle so I can secure it to the top of the grenade launcher, then I'll hit them with some satin black before securing everything together :thumbsup

Can I ask how much the parts set you back?

Thanks everyone! I'm much happier with it now. The only thing I think I'll change now when I get around to it will be the barrel. I've got a half inch aluminum tube right now, but it's a bit too small. Just need to find the right diameter

Well, I finally got around to getting the proper barrel. I ordered from Phil again, and it just came in today. I removed the barrel that was on the PR and gently/forcefully tapped the new barrel into the triangle. Needs a slight sanding and I'll hit it with some satin black tomorrow
