Amazing what you can find on the net...

umm... whered you find that??? :confused

BLODDY HELL :eek

WHERE DID YOU FIND THAT...............

ive searched for hours and came up with Zip

so that destroys the myth that one actor played both Troops....................

Might be best to check with the wizards at originaltrilogy.com for better screen caps. Some guys have real prints of ANH, maybe they can do a real good scan for you.

Damn, I wonder why it is so damn hard to find any information about these troops. There must be someone sitting on information on them...

Krugi, where did you find that great photo? :eek

Is it possible to get in touch with the owner? A hi-res scan might reveal more detail than we have already.

Wow. :eek

Nice work krugj.. :thumbsup

If someone can make contact with the source of this scan, and get a higher resolution scan then one of the great stormtrooper costume mysteries of the last 30 years may finally be solved. :)

Cheers,
John

could it be the mystery of the space stormtrooper backpacks be solved & we'll see people building them like crazy? It would be great to see a completed one.

Lads,

I've been speaking to AA from SDS in Twickenham about this (I work about 5 minutes away)....does he have any photos, can he remember it etc.
He told me he couldn't find any but thinks that the tops were made from old camping Gaz cannisters. Makes sense when you look at them.

As for the rest, toliets parts and hoover washing machine parts/hoses were commonly used to do all sorts. Which parts....who knows?

I want to do one of these too so I'll be keeping an eye for any updates.

Hope this helps :)

PS: Great picture find dude. Trully fantastic :)

Anyone here know T-bone well? I've spoken to him before and supplied him with some images so if nobody else minds I can contact him and ask.

Great behind the scenes photo , be great if this pack could be finally solved.

Hi Tony. I've asked nicely but dont want to nag, if you ask too, who knows what he may find ;)

I'm going to make a go at this. Obviously it won't be 100% but the shape will be more or less right as I know have it from all angles.

I'll just vac form the lower box shape and get 2 camping gaz CV470 plus cannisters as they seem sthe right size with a dome on top

I've asked T'bone if he can get in touch with the person that supplied the image.

Tried to clean it up a bit.

This could still be a partially composited image. Meaning I still think it's one guy.

Having actually STOOD in the trash can at ILM, when it was in Van Nuys, I can tell you lots of semi completed effect shots went out the door and into those dumpsters.

I doubt that's just one guy. The back packs are at different heights for a start and why would anyone bother to do a behind the scenes composite shot?

I've managed to do these

I'm going to try and vac form something for the lower half this weekend. 3 main parts should do it. Either side, middle. then something to hold the bottles and some sort of connection system to our suits
