Any progress on this project? I've made a start here on something similar...

Hey, just giving a heads up on this: But if anyone happens to own the arcade machine of "Discs of Tron", then you are also a proud owner of a replica. I was at Books-A-Million earlier and I flipped through the "Art of Tron Legacy" book, and in the shot where we see the "Tron" arcade machine in the arcade, to the right side of the screen, the last machine in the row is a "Discs of Tron" arcade machine that was borrowed from a collector in (I could be incorrect on this) Ohio for the scenes in the old arcade.

Not a great deal of forward movement. Still trying to get Star Trek sim .complete. Psychospasm that looks great! What is your base cab?

I love the Star Trek game. But about my machine, I think it was a mario machine, or maybe galaxian - but its a lowboy anyway. Not really sure what it was to start with.

I pulled out the original arcade monitor, detached the old jammer board and threw out the power supply. Then I put a I-PAC2 Keyboard Encoder from Ozstick.com.au in, an old laptop with MAME and a 19' CRT, plus a Dolby sound system from my PC. I eventually made my own marquee.

Here's the marquee then below that the pinball mod I did so I can play PinMAME as well...

Pinball MOD - added buttons to side to make it more authentic to play PinMAME...

I just realized that I have the 1982 Bally Tron ROM, so was playing it last night. Light cycles, tanks, and "use your identity disc to enter the MCP field". Good fun. :)

nice stuff ,
the Top marque has no Encom in it on the machine at the event..guess they forgot.
I think what ever come out of this is going to be better then what we have seen.

I have made heaps of progress on my version. Here's a couple of YouTube vids. It's compatible with Oculus Rift so if you have some goggles check out the Fan 3 video. I should have a beta release of this soon. I'll map the controls to the MAME arcade machine as well.

Here's a super early version -
working on my arcade machine

Here's what I've been working on porting it to Unity and making the gameplay and explosions better. I also bought the Recognizer from TurboSquid and remodelled it. Basically I didn't like the cumbersome lit edges which were basically stretched cubes in a lattice. I deleted them, remodelled most of the parts and bevelled the edges to add the red lines - a lot less polys and it looks better.

This is the Oculus Rift version - put on your goggles if you have them.

This is the latest version of the game - bit buggy and not really a game right now. The recognizers seem to explode when trying to stomp on you.

Here's a pic too.
