Thanks very much. Yep, it sort of gets to the question of whether you're making a replica prop or a replica spacesuit part I suppose. I think if the micro mesh on the surface was visible on screen I would have had to reproduce it, but since I can't really make it out, it would be a tricky effect to achieve to replicate something that most aren't expecting to be there.

It's why the chest packs were so matte looking and off-white as well.

Probably to hide a wooden frame, or to avoid flare from the lights.

Fair enough. Looking very closely at that image, there is an almost 'felt' look to them, which is odd really.

It's a very lightweight one yeah, for the purpose it's more robust than dulling spray, easier to maintain. Given that most real space suit packs are fabric wrapped, not an odd choice. Felt probably shapes and definitely dulls better than others. You can also see the little toggle switch, painted orange, that turns the lights on and off.

I take your point. I still don't really like the fabric look though! I hadn't noticed the orange switch before. I put my switch behind the little box on the side, which houses the battery on mine.
