(Wow...700 posts! How did that happen? I remember just yesterday it seemed like no. 20 was so very far off...)
Well the piece only has to support its own weight so, all in all, it isn't a factor as such. but I am tired of building things that have a shelf life of the life it has on the shelf.....
By that I mean that the second it falls or drops to the floor, kiss goodbye to it. That's partly what happened to my last Enterprise bridge build and lit the touch paper for the carnage that ensued. I just want to build something that, if dropped, stands a fighting chance of surviving a four feet fall! :lol
Now wouldn't THAT be a novelty!?

Hey Darren here is how I did it on the original thread I started
I started with some styrene templates then I filled it with regular insulation foam and I sanded it to shape afterwards I layed Magic sculpt over it waited for it to dry. Sanded it and primed it then I did a quick ultracal 30 mold the brush on silicone takes to long, once I popped the pattern from the Hydrocal I hit it with sand paper to smooth out imperfections and primed it then I slush casted two resin halfs joined them puttied the seams and sand ,smoothed and primed and then cut out the windows.

I just saw this update now looks way better and you get a smoother finish, once you go styrene you won't go back Lol.

Not necessarily..I'm sure new ones would look even better. The way you're progressing, I just can't imagine having to say to you "These new tools suck, your old ones were better." :lol
Oh, and I promise an update very soon, before I get branded as the deadbeat of the thread!

Okay guys got a little work done over the weekend did some more pipe work on the cage area doing the X cross members which had me cussing up a storm either cutting it to big or to small or getting it stuck to my fingers, so I took a break from it and started on the shoulder pod pattern made the top section that will get attached to the lower section then molded for the other 3.
