Sure, it's not going to win any Oscars, but it looks like fun and has a decent cast. The fanbase is certainly there. My seven year old absolutely loved the trailer.
Oh, okay, so you ADULTS are punching holes in this. Psssst...guess what...
IT WASN'T MADE FOR YOU!

Try showing a seven year old Bohemian Rhapsody. Yeah, he'll think it sucks as well.
See the difference?

I should say, I'm not trying to shame anyone who enjoys this. I have crappy movie templates that I enjoy. One of my favorites is still the one where the misfit high school/college kid who is unpopular in spite of being attractive, funny, smart, and likable, somehow gets help and manages to get a date with their popular crush only to learn a valuable lesson about how the popular kids are just as messed up as their misfit friends and ends up getting together with the one who helped them become popular. That ones been made almost as many times as this template and I still usually enjoy it. I'm just not going to pretend it's good cinema and even though I like them, I still enjoy mocking them with everyone else.

The Mario Brothers movie was set up to have a sequel. I still wonder how that would have went.
Mario Brothers was so bad, that it was laughable....so I bought it on DVD in the 5 dollar bin.

Worth every penny.

That movie is to Mario, what pizza flavored combos are to pizza;

Both delicious and addictive, while sharing no attributes with their actual namesake's.

Like there were some pretty funny parts. My favorite is when Mario and Luigi are about to get their picture taken after being arrested. All these red lasers cover them. They make these faces like their about to die....but its only a picture. So later when they escape in the cop car, their wanted pictures are those faces of death.....
I always found that pretty funny.
If only the Sonic movie can have some stupid funny moments, then maybe things could work.....but yeah, got to get his design working a bit better at least.

Well, I guess it IS in improvement over what they had....yet, while it looks more like Sonic, it sure doesn't act anything like him from the games. Have any of those guys even played a Sonic game before???
But one thing they still got wrong on the design, one the even all the fan edits got wrong. Sonic's arms are skin colored, nor blue, and mainly, the skin colored fur was never suppose to be fur, it was skin. But whatever......and couldn't they at the very least gotten Jim Carrey a fat suit or something.

While the movie itself doesn't seem to be anything grand, I'll give them credit for actually listening to the fan base and going through with the changes. It's not perfect but a 100000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000x better than the first optical abomination, and I feel the fans who called for changes should now pony up and go see the film.

In all seriousness, it does look better, and good on them for having the guts to do that, but fixing one of your 99 blunders doesn't erase the other 98. Still has Jim Carrey as Jim Carrey, still does the same crappy plot of "Pop culture character comes to Earth, whacky shenanigans ensue!" that has pretty much never been good, yet they keep trying it over and over and over and over...

They'll get some good press for changing the character. If the movie has ANY decent scenes it might even make a profit. But based on what we've seen it's still a pretty safe bet that it's the cinematic equivalent of a 7-11 burrito.

That's really the problem. They fixed the most visible problem, but the whole trailer is garbage. There is nothing worthwhile there at all. On Earth? No. Jim Carey? No. There is nothing here that any Sonic fan ever asked for. Honestly, this looks like a modern version of Super Mario Bros. I don't care if you actually make it look like Sonic, the movie itself still looks like crap.

Okay, I know I'm in the minority but I'm going with my son to see this. Jim Carey STILL makes me laugh!

Longest trailer ever. I was sure I was near the end of a 5-minute video and it was only at 1m:38s when I checked to see how much was left.
