hiya guys

is there anyone out there that can print water-slide decals?
i'm actually looking to get a STAR WARS Imperial cog decal.
i would need two sizes....one in 1 inch diameter and one in 1/2 diameter.
the decal would be going on a black surface so it would be best if the cog was in white, silver or even red.

any help / leads would be greatly appreciated.

thanks very much :)

You can buy printable waterslide paper for inkjet printers but you can't print white. Quick google search should turn up a bunch of suppliers.

Make triple sure to read in detail how to print them. Ive had hit and miss sucess when printing water slide decals from printer to printer.

thanks for the advice guys!
question...can i use a lazerjet printer rather than inkjet?

sorry for the dumb questions but this is all new to me :)

If you want white, you can get WHITE decal paper, then just print out an outline, and cut it verrrrrrrry carefully

The inkjet stuff I've used, you print out the design, then spray it down with some... spray stuff, let it dry, and you're good to go. Testors brand.

Yeah with the inkjet decals I've used, you print them out and then hit it with clear gloss acrylic. Any brand will do as long as it's acrylic. A couple coats at least or else you'll see tears form when you go to apply the decals.

I have an extra one about an inch in diameter.
What's the project?

You may want to consider vinyl decals. If you contact "Muttley" here on the RPF, I know he recently got a plotter for this very thing so he may be able to help. He did my Swingline decals for my red stapler in white and it turned out beautifully.

I have Alps printers and can help you with the white decals, but as said above you might want to consider vinyl, the 1/2" one might cause issues on some lower end cutters, but you should be able to do the 1" ones without hassle, it will depend on the cutter... But Vinyl cuts will be a lot more crisp, water slide will give that worn paint effect in white generally...

hey bantha fodder...it's for custom biker scout blaster. finished the project a while ago but never found a decal. i'll pm you.

thanks funky jedi, multiple decals are better than one. ya know, just in case :)

I no longer have the guys contact information (I used to have a complete PDF catalog he sent out) but there was a guy that was real popular on the 501st forums a few years back that offered a bunch of pre-designed cut vinyl sheets including a sheet of various sized Imperial Cogs... Maybe someone has his contact info around here, I know he was pretty popular because he offered replacement trooper helmet sheets for the various builds, and they were always needed...

wow what a pain in the butt to weed, not 100% but the best I could do on my machine, yours if you want them. If red isn't to your liking I have some brushed aluminum vinyl as well as white.

I still get asked for the Swingline decals, and I do still have them. PM me or email me for info.
