Solo: A Star Wars Story

I went to pick up my copy and the local Meijer (regional chain, 3-4 states) didn't have any. The Target I stopped at had a few copies...

iTunes had an infinite amount of copies, or so it seemed. i had to try again.

I'm not defending what was a mediocre flick that would've been better with just a better cast... but, it would've been better with a better cast.

No one in my town is interested in this thing. Retail stores are all still well stocked. I'm not surprised. This movie is as bland as a glass of water.

I'm buying my copy online. I don't actually go to stores to buy movies, really. I might pick one up if I'm there to buy something else and see one. But otherwise, just about all entertainment products I buy online.

calibrating my sarcasm meter; are you saying best buy is full of crap because they have infinity war and black panther on the new release rack, or did you not know infinity war had been out to buy for a couple weeks now, at least?

Also, I've never had good luck with bestbuy.com results matching up to actual in store items.

Honestly didn’t know infinity war was out to buy. I don’t get out much...

Don't worry about it. I only knew, because Amazon prime won't start offering a film to rent until it's DVD/Blu-Ray hits stores; and I rented infinity war a few weeks back.

Bought my copy at the local Walmart. There were plenty of DVD, blu-ray and ultra 4K to choose from. None of the booklets though.

I have Netflix but don’t use it much, do you know if there is a place to go to let you know when up coming releasing will be released?

Wondering when infinity war will be available on Netflix

I've generally just had to google search every other month or so, and find one of those lists of stuff that's coming out in the next two months on the top 3 streaming services.

Out of curiosity I looked around netflix itself, and it looks like they put together a monthly video running down the list of what comes out, but everything seemed to be netflix original stuff; not sure if that's coincidence, or if that's all they pimp in their in house video.

I'm still buying everything on disc (though I certainly don't buy movies like I used to) and ripping them for my Plex server. There's definitely a part of me that doesn't trust these services to forever recognize my purchase, silly as that sounds.

I can understand the reluctance. Although what I try to do with Star Wars films is purchase the film on disc with a digital copy. I just make that purchase online so I don't have to go to the store.

Rebuttal: Got my SteelBook at Best Buy, as I said above. Was in there again yesterday to get something else, stopped by the rack to see how many were left (some, not a lot), and a friendly acquaintance who works there (who I hadn't seen Tuesday) asked if I'd gotten mine yet. I said an emphatic yes, to which he replied, "It's the only movie anyone's buying this week".

Granted it was the highest profile film out on home video this week, but we're only a week out from the release of JW: Fallen Kingdom and Fahrenheit 451, plus a whole lot of TV stuff worth mentioning (Community complete series box set is on my list). Point is, if there were really as little interest in Solo, there are plenty of other new and recent releases people could be shopping for and aren't. Personally, I snagged it before a lot of other stuff that's come out in the last few weeks that I want.

Not surprisingly there’s no references to the previous directors in any of the extras. They briefly
mwntion Howard coming on, but no details.

The typical lag of the other MCU movies on Netflix has people projecting November or December for IW. Google 'Netflix new releases' sometime around mid-October (unless someone announces it in the IW thread). They tend to announce what's coming out month by month.

Awesome! Sure enough like you’ve said seems like we should have it before December

I’ll pick it up next weekend instead of waiting

Gotcha. We joined the Disney movie club a while back, smoking intro deal - you know how they work, so we're probably waiting until the Ant Man and the Wasp Blu Ray hits so we can buy them both and get a discount.

TFA, TLJ, and R1 were flying off the shelves faster. Way faster.
