Software props #1 - Death Star power display

Free 'paper props' have been around for a while, but I've never heard of 'software props' before so I thought I'd try and start a new trend.

What I mean by 'software prop' is: a program to reproduce a computer display from a film. Has to be functional though (otherwise it would just be wallpaper)!

I'm no master programmer but I can do some Flash. Anyway, I did this to amuse myself and I wondered if others would like a copy? The tractor beam power display which Ben Kenobi turns off in SW:ANH. Here's a still from my program:

Very simple but kind of fun. It's actually a .swf file but I had to ZIP it in order to attach it here.

Controls:
Left and right arrow keys make the power go up and down.
'A' toggles 'auto' mode on and off. In auto mode it just fluctuates at random.
'L' toggles between original and Special Edition typefaces.

That's it! Like I said, pretty simple but I'm kind of testing the water to see if there's any interest for future projects.

I know there's some detail missing from the screen. It looks like tiny digits and things, but since I don't have HD I prefer to omit them rather than guess. :unsure

Please let me know if you like it; whether it works for you; and anything I should change. Remember, it's just a bit of fun. :$

other little things would be cool, i cant do something like this.
whats with a nice stargate screen. Where you can select the chevrons ando so on or the diagnostic screen.

Other star wars software would be cool too

This is a great idea! I was actually thinking of this kind of thing a few days ago. :eek I'm all-for future projects of these!

Great work, by the way. I love it. I, myself, won't be able to make anything like this (I don't have the skills), but I would love to see more being made in the near future.

i used the Stargate screen saver posted here a while back, dont remember who made it but it is cool.

Great thread concept! How about some GOOD tricorder emulators for Palms or similar things?

Screensavers aren't bad either!

I've always wanted to do up a bunch of LCARS displays and have them on looped tape/ DVD paying back on some small monitors I have.
