DEATH STAR CANNON 1:1 SCALE

Hey guys, so I finally get to build the full size version of this gun. I modelled it and made a 1/6 scale prop for the museum diorama and now, a big one is required.
Here are some renders of the model;

Most of it will be scratch built but with some printed parts and laser cut panels. It measures 5.5m at the longest point and will be mounted on a plinth facing out to the starfield.
I have printed some of the large parts first and will start from the base and work my way up the gun;

OK, got a few of the bigger parts built up...it's actually going to be mirrored from the usual orientation to suit the final display

I think it's safe to say that, when transporting the cannon from your isle to the main shore, you'll scare the populace for sure

Got all the general construction done and all the main parts fitted...now it's just more greebs, hoses and paint

Good Gravy, you never cease to amaze me! Looks incredible. I'd ask what you do in your spare time, but I don't think you have any between your 3D designing and building.

OK the gun is done...made a platform and a seat, added some more details and gave it a paint job. Really enjoyable prop to make...not too much printing/filling/sanding etc...a lot of fun.

Difficult prop to shoot...will post some proper pics when fitted on set
