So, who else is working on a Crystal Skull?

Well i liked the movie. That being said I'm sure there were different versions of the skull for different aspects of filmimg. SO the question is,... solid, slush cast who's in for which version.

I personally like the idea of a solid version, it may not have seemed that way in the film with how light it was, but I can't help feeling like it should have been heavy and solid :lol but I'm sure I'd get a full size version no matter what as soon as one becomes available

ME!!! ME!! ME!(y)

I like the idea of stuffing it with the Iridescent Cellophane. The movie was OK

It's the real deal .. it's all explained in the movie :cool

But I'm not sure I want one of those after actually seeing the effects that thing has :eek On hte other hand .... :cool

I saw the movie today... Ok, I understand.... But what a stupid idea... :rolleyes I were so cool , if they changed a good Mayan skull. But nooo.... Lot of work for Prop builders, again... :lol

Ok, guys... Here we go... First one who can make the skull, will get a cookie... :)

Uhm... no... First: Ive got no wookie... If I had one, I would name it "Chewbacca" and will teach him to "sit down" and "come" if I call him...
Great, huh? :lol

Second: What should people do with a wookie, if they can get a cookie :love

But lets talk about that skull... Finally I know how it looks, so the Ebay skulls are unacurate as hell...

It´s definitely too small (like posted some posts ago):

imageload

so was it just me or did anyone else think it looked like it was hollow cast and then filled with a bunch of crumbled up seran rap :lol

I'm pretty damn sure that's EXACTLY what it was. Iridescent plastic in bundles, like the stuff used in gift bags, stuck inside the skull.

yeah, i heard in the new making of the movies book it describes the process used, though weve pretty much figured its a hoolowcasting with plastic wrap jammed in there, it would be niec to hear whats written in that book if anyone has seen it.

Here ya go:

The Complete Making of Indiana Jones said:
On Tuesday, June 12, a "MacGuffin Lighting/Camera Test" was shot for the crystal skull. "The first meeting we had with Steven was over at Amblin," says John Rosengrant, of Stan Winston Studio. "Scott Patton and I showed him all the various skull designs, and he keyed in on a couple. We had also brought the computer program with us, so Steven was able to move things around right there on the spot. We ended up having to develop a way to make the crystal skulls out of water-clear urethane, which gave us a better turnaround time and more durability. The skulls ended up being cast hollow. They appear to be more solid because there's a little brain sculpted inside."

That's it. That's all it says. There are also 4 pictures. A design drawing, a fully colored/texurized computer model, the skull skulpted in clay, and a shot of a few finished skulls sitting on a props table.
