Well i liked the movie. That being said I'm sure there were different versions of the skull for different aspects of filmimg. SO the question is,... solid, slush cast who's in for which version.

on flickr there is a guy who said it was hollow and filled with saran wrap...also it has a blue tint to itlooks like you can see some bubbles on the left side of the head there.
yeah, i heard in the new making of the movies book it describes the process used, though weve pretty much figured its a hoolowcasting with plastic wrap jammed in there, it would be niec to hear whats written in that book if anyone has seen it.
The Complete Making of Indiana Jones said:On Tuesday, June 12, a "MacGuffin Lighting/Camera Test" was shot for the crystal skull. "The first meeting we had with Steven was over at Amblin," says John Rosengrant, of Stan Winston Studio. "Scott Patton and I showed him all the various skull designs, and he keyed in on a couple. We had also brought the computer program with us, so Steven was able to move things around right there on the spot. We ended up having to develop a way to make the crystal skulls out of water-clear urethane, which gave us a better turnaround time and more durability. The skulls ended up being cast hollow. They appear to be more solid because there's a little brain sculpted inside."
