So Cal Prop Party!! PICS START ON PAGE 33!!!!

Re: So Cal Prop Party!! SET FOR MARCH 6th 2011 **SEE 1st POST**

my biggest problemo is their presence may change the atmosphere of the prop party.....see...if they were there to mingle, chat, talk about props, then i dont mind...but, it seems they could careless about the prop party...could careless about the props and making of them....they just want 2 see what they consign.....their la appraisal show was a "bust".......most likely, this will be a "bust" for them....

So, now in order to be welcome at a forum party, you have to have motivations that meet group approval?

I hope everyone knows the only reason *I* go is for the ladies. Does this mean I'm not welcome?

Don't get me wrong, ER, you know you're my pal. I just don't understand why you would care what motivates them to come. If they want to come because they like the carpet, I don't see why that should bother you.

And if you're going to play the "their presence may change the atmosphere of the party" card, then the FIRST thing you need to do is ban MicDavis. he pretty much ruins ANY party he goes to. I cite the last OC Prop party as a prime example. It was frickin' mardi gras until he showed up. :lol

Re: So Cal Prop Party!! SET FOR MARCH 6th 2011 **SEE 1st POST**

Plus, if they held another public appraisal in a room next to us, then we run the risk of strangers coming into ours and anything can happen which was a concern a few pages ago

You totally lost me here dude. Are you suggesting that the thousands of D&B patrons who drag their screen used props around with them, but are not members of the RPF, will get suckered into the appraisal room by the film crew, then in a frenzy of malicious prop interest, they will crash our party and ruin it with their passion for movie props???

BTW...for those of you that want to bring a Screen Prop and display it safely , I'll be bringing a large lockable glass case and a lockable jewelers case to display things in....assuming they will fit. Larger Items can be displayed on tables and roped off.

:lolI have some screen-used Benchwarmers props that i might bring
No danger of those disappearing or being bought up by PIH. LOL
Hell, I don't even think anyone would take them if I gave them away

Re: So Cal Prop Party!! SET FOR MARCH 6th 2011 **SEE 1st POST**

HOWEVER, I DO get freaked out when randoms walk it. Brad, maybe a take away for you is to check with D&B to see if they can put a "private party" sign at the door. in MY mind, it's common sense. i would never just walk into a party and start poking around, but sometimes common sense isn't so common.

Sometimes parents bring their kids in to see the R2, and that's always kinda fun. But yeah, I get a little worried about the randoms, if ONLY because they may not know how to handle/touch things that could be delicate.

What do you guys think about ALL of us MUST wear a RPF Prop Party badge to attend? That way we will know who is with us and who are walk-ins? No badge, No entry sort of thing...

I will be working on the updated 2011 Prop Party badge.

no, it was brought up earlier in this thread that some unknowns came in last year (which some were hott according to Rob ;) ) and brought some concern for fellow members...which is why i think brad wanted to enforce the rpf badges this year (see quotes above).....not sure how the other members feel regarding this since this was brought up earlier...just basically saying more potential unknowns which isnt bad unless they are kids with sticky fingers haha

Also, PIH did a public notice for their last appraisal fair which was posted on several websites (this site included) and I think a local newspaper....I am sure they wouldnt just rely on us to bring the goods and will do another public address to people all over socal etc etc...

I'm all for name badges, and collecting fees at the door. We DEFINITELY need a bouncer. But please, let the hotties in.

From my read, they were not looking to make "our" party into an appraisal fair that was open to the public, but hey, maybe I'm too innocent and unspoiled.

Re: So Cal Prop Party!! SET FOR MARCH 6th 2011 **SEE 1st POST**

I know it is a "PROP" Party but is anyone going to "gear up?"

Indy?
Ghostbuster?
Death Star?
Herbie......................blink

How would you "dress up" as Herbie? Gain a lot of weight and wear a white tracksuit with racing stripes?

The Mighty Marshmallow is staying at home this year and I'm bringing the Bond BMW with the rocket launcher, plus a few Bond-y gadgets and a pair of screen used rubber stunt weapons I just closed the deal on.

If you're in SoCal do you want to just stop by my house and drive one of the cars over so we can have both there? It's a 5 minute trip. PM or email me.

I'd volunteer to pick up Herbie. It would be an honor.

Re: So Cal Prop Party!! SET FOR MARCH 6th 2011 **SEE 1st POST**

Brian, do you live up in Tustin? I swear I saw Herbie parked on Red Hill one day. Was that you?

Re: So Cal Prop Party!! SET FOR MARCH 6th 2011 **SEE 1st POST**

Red Hill could have been me. I'm in Mission Viejo, 5-10 minutes south of this Dave and Busters. There are about a half-dozen Herbies in the area but only a couple ever see any road time.

I have a second Herbie I could bring to round out the collection but it's an absolute pain to drive (it's the evil "Horace" one with no windows and an engine which is too hot for its own good), I could drive that one and we could get a couple of drivers for Robo-Herbie and the Bond BMW. PM me if you want to play driver...

That's if you guys think three movie cars outside is worth $50 in valet (plus tips) and the extra hassle, I'm game. Last time we just hung outside for 15 minutes doing the Herbie and R2 show so I thought one car would be enough, but the more the merrier!
