Smooth On Retailers?

I recently picked up a kit that I need to do some filling work on, and it's been recommended that I use a smooth on low expansion foam. So I went and checked all the local places I could think of and no one carries their products, or really, any casting supplies.

Smooth On sells their products direct, so maybe I should just go right to them. I just thought I should ask and see if any of the other folks around here have any better sources or guidance?

I'm considering buying one of their beginner casting sets as well to learn a little more, "hands on" about the molding and casting process. Any do's and dont's for me there?

I would go directly to them. i tried my local distributor and he just ended up ordering from them and shipped it to me. for me its easier to just go to there web site add to cart and ship.

but thats just me.

Your location?

Reynolds Advanced Materials is Smooth On's retail outlets: http://www.reynoldsam.com/

Or you might find a local plastics or resin supplier that also carries their products... For me I have a local Reynolds and also a generic supplier that carries pretty much a full line of their products, the only difference is that Reynolds sells in the Smooth On packaging while the generic supplier repackages in generic containers from larger drums... I tend to favor the generic supplier as they offer a wider selection of alternatives and they have awesome customer skills, they stayed open for an extra hour on a Saturday for me so that I could drive down and pick up an order, that sold me on them...

Ordering direct is also an option, but if I order from the local Reynolds, I get it next day since they are so close, or I can pick it up same day...

Dick Blick also sells a very limited selection of Smooth On, but it varies by location from little to none...

I usually go to the local retailer for any Smooth On stuff I need. The one in KC usually keeps enough of the common stuff in stock that I can just grab and go. They also have some cool sample packs they use for their weekly (or maybe monthly now) classes on how to use the products.
