Try searching eBay for 1/6th scale ammo belts. That's what I used for my T2:3D T-70 bust ammo belt.
wow it looks amazing ! oh btw has there been any progress with the molding and casting or archer?Hey everyone!
Little update: I redid Butch's head this weekend. For the ones interested - in case you haven't lost interest already since this seems to never progress ;-) - here are some pics of the development until now. Need to refine eyebrows, beard and cheeks, however, but in my humble opinion it's a lot better then the first head (not only sizewise...). Furthermore, I have made some "technical drawings" of Butch's sniper rifle. There's a very talented member here who might make a 3D file based on my drawings and some photos I will provide him with. After that, I'll do the same thing with Butch's backpack launch thing. Then, let's 3D print that ***** ;-)
Thanks for your inputs and till soon
Florian
oh wow awesome , and congratulations !Have to make a mold for the left hand and the hip area and upper legs still... Ran out of silicone since I purchased a commando and am saving money for expression heads... sorry that it takes so much time... just became father for the third time - which is great, but time consuming ;-) - and so I can only work on this project when they are all asleep...
Since Archer is in one piece, I have to make the first pull in clay, then refine it and give the limbs joints, which isn't all that easy. Found out, however, that Troglokhan is based on Archer, even the head which was altered a lot, however.
Had an accident two weeks ago and needed to stay in bed (slipping on icy stone stairs and landing on your back is quite dangerous... ;-)
Worked on Brick's box art, front and back pic. Needs detailing of course, but its a start. What do you guys think of it?

View attachment 518668View attachment 518669Made progress with the front and back drawings. Had to make Kip's head again, however. The boxes' shots in the movie are not very accurate, however. Casting in resin is a pain for me... bubbles all over, no matter what I do... It is simply saddening... Task 2 and 3 resin doesn't work, even with degassing the components first.
I know this takes ages, and I know a lot of people lose interest in just seeing some slow updates and no finished resin castings to buy... However, for those who are still kind of following this and want to help build a replica as accurate as possible, here are some shots of a nearly finalized Butch head. I redid the whole skull area and especially the cheek/nose area etc. Any feedback is welcome. In case I don't hear anything until the end of next week, I will simply smooth everything down and make the mold. Since I have originals in the meantime from Kip, Nick and Chip and in view of Butch and Brick being nearly finished (the heads, that is), the last one (and in my opinion the most difficult one) is now on the workbench, Link... the mouth area is pretty hard to get, and the brow area as well... we will see. I highly appreciate you mirroring my work, i.e. giving some criticism. There is still some "unevenness" in the upper are of the bony part of the brow, and the beard needs to be more defined...

Ah, and by the way: Nick's right upper and lower arm are nearly finished. Also, I made a cast of the Kip hip piece in clay, cut off all the pockets and the buckle and refined them. The rubber piece was full of holes... The hip piece will be refined in order for single resin casts of the pockets and the belt buckle to be attached. This way, all different hip pieces for the for smaller figures (Chip, Kip, Link and Nick) can be made separately. The pockets will be the same. Two new pockets with a different design have to be made, however... Furthermore, like this not a whole hip piece is lost in case one of the pockets or the buckle show a bubble or something...

I love your updates! Puts as big smile on my face every time. I definitely look up to you and the amazing work you do. Everyone could learn a lot from you for sure, I know I amSo, one more of the updates everyone gets soo excited about :rolleyes... The last piece to be molded is the hip piece. I already explained that I cut all the pockets and the buckle off. First, in order to refine them and secondly in order to make molds that show as much detail as possible (bubble issues seem to be bigger when you have all the undercuts etc...). Another issue was the belt. It was not perfect on the stunt piece to begin with, and after molding, more details were missing, as you can see on the first picture... So I had to find a way to "replicate" the belt. Refining of the casting was impossible... After looking at the fabric of my clothes, I came across "EASYTAPE" which is used when you cut yourself etc. I measured everything on the stunt piece, i.e. width of the belt, how far the rivets are apart etc. I then put transferred the measurements to the tape, made holes with a leather tool for making holes and took tiny pieces of clay for the rivets... You can see the round tip tool I took to make the holes in the rivet on one of the pictures. No I will do some final refinements, then its ready to be molded as well. By the way, I had a long time finding out how the buttons on Kip's jacket were created. It was finally soo easy, however. You take a "closed" pen, i.e. you don't push the point out. When you push on a tiny round piece of clay, it makes the shape of a button with a cut edge and a little hole in the middle ;-)
