size of captain americas shield?

That's a great tutorial. No wonder I couldn't find it when I looked on the RPF. I knew I had seen it somewhere before.

irishamericanlad: While I would love to machine it out of aluminum, I think that it would be cost prohibitive (at least for me) and require more skill than I have. I am thinking about using fiberglass and painting it to look as much like metal as possible.

i used a heat shield off of a propane table top heater as a mold and made one outta fiberglass and bondo. sanded for days but it came out nice. heres a link to the thread. http://www.therpf.com/f9/another-captain-america-shield-98452/

Nice job quakevirus. I actually did a search for 'captain america shield' before my first post so I had already seen it.

My problem is that I want both the front and back of the shield to look like the movie version. I think I have it all about 90% figured out in my head.
