Sinner Helmet - Recent Project

I made this helmet for a recent college project, the concept behind it is a helmet worn by sinners who are put to hard labour on a hostile planet in a far flung dystopian future. Included here are some of my concepts, construction of the mask and stand and some pics of the final mask.Plenty of X-Wing,Falcon,Vader's Tie Fighter parts to use on this from my spares box ! Need some photos of someone wearing it next !

I love the old metal look of your helmet. But, what is gum tape and what is used for? I'm very interested n it for a helmet project, has it a soft touch or it hardens when it dries?

Gummed Tape is on a roll and I cut it into small squares and built several layers over a balloon painting a layer of PVA Wood Glue between each layer and letting that dry, gum tape does dry hard when dry, I then painted multiple layers of Acrylic paint on and sanded it as smooth as I could get it with wet and dry sandpaper. The entire inside of the helmet was also layered with gum strip to help strengthen it.

OK, then your technique is like a sort of papier mache technique but with this tape instead paper. I'm making a mask with the paper mache route and this is very interesting for me. Thank you for your answer.
