Silicone P1 Suit Evolution. Pg41 Hands Video 19/07/13

dude you have not idea how much I long for a workshop with lights I can move and control.

I am actually out working again now lol, also ( this is as brazen as I get )  I am really digging the tweaks im making

Those last 2 pics are epic.  The blending of those colors are just crazy.  I watched you for a bit on the live stream
What psi do you run your compressor at?  Painting this silicone.
That P1 head is just dam nice.  The match up of both items is brill mate should be so proud of these pieces you are doing.
Hell if i done something this brill my head would be so big i wouldn't fit through door frames lol.
looking forward to seeing more of this master piece.  Keep up the great work.

Thanks :) .

I run the compressor at 50- 55 ish psi ( highest mine will go ) however I adjust it at the airbrush to a lower pressure ( I prefer having the control there as my IWATA hp-ch allows it )
I am not going to get big headed ever I hope + I made a few mistakes lol, but im happy for now.

I tweaked the sides of the stomach area and I am much happier with the " flow " of the pattern now.

Anyway , paint is approx. 99% done I spent a good hour or so painting black in the stitch holes on the belt hahaha, ocd anyone.

2 photos, 1 as bright a lighting as I could get, the other low lightning.

hopefully Tuesday I will be able to do the 1st top coat.

Matte coat done,  . the picture below was yesterday morning, last night when I washed it I had obviously rubbed the powder in by mistake in a few places causing white faded marks grrr. so this morning I touched up those areas and went over it again, should be able to see how that looks tomorrow.

After my annoyance subsided, I harassed AHUNTERSOMOON  ( Tom ) over the shoulder armour shapes, he was kind enough to grab a couple of screen shots for me and last night I started on the right shoulder piece, this is the side we couldn't really see that well, but I had a couple of behind the scenes screen shots that showed it. however they all looks slightly different, some its a flat piece, some the upper fins curves up, some both fins curve up. I came to the conclusion that the fins are flat, and it is just the foam latex flexing in different positions giving it that appearance.
BUT
Tom and I noticed the left BIG shoulder bells fins curve up, so I am going to sculpt my right side armour to match............. phew, sorry that was long winded, but kind of keeps in the flow of the thread huh.

anyway as of 10 mins ago this is where I am. hopefully I will have this knocked up in the next few days and then move onto the left bicep before the left shoulder piece.

this will be done around the torso finishing, and quills being attached.

Love it Lee, well done. I may use this for reference when I get around to sculpting my own if it's okay.

Brian

Of course lol, nice you think its helpful.

Onto the Bicep armour I think.

Thanks guys, I am trying to get the block of the left bicep done tonight, ive just made a rough shape of my arm by heating some polymorph up then moulding it around my arm , bloody stuff is taking ages to cool and turn to plastic again grrr.

Well the skin is giving me headaches with me wanting it mainly Matte, it took me a few goes on the head to get it right and the torso is a much bigger area. and I am purposely wanting some areas left wet looking, kind of if hes.................. sweating.

ok no idea if Predators do sweat, but I will be swesting inside so that's my logic for doing it lol.

about to grab some toast and coffee, then I am heading outside to wash the powder off again.

here is where I got to on the bicep armour last night. the white polymorph fits around my arm nicely, so I built up 1/2 a inch of clay then fleshed out the rough shape. not sure how much I will get done today as im back on nights later. and have some dredd stuff that needs working on also.

Washed off annnnd, only 2 small areas to fix, I figured out what I am doing wrong ..........I think ( finally )

Happy to show my screw ups, in hope someone else does not make the same mistake, or at least if they do and wonder why , they have the answer.

When I put the clear coat down I must be dabbing the matte powder on TOO hard and its mixing with the clear instead of settling on top.

photo of the issue is below, oddly enough the other patch is virtually in the same place on the right chest lol. it is a simple fix, just quickly repaint the black spots and mist some sienna over the area then when that's dry later , recoat those 2 areas.

Quick 360 of it now it has been washed.

WOW! Incredible...it looks so real. The close up where you showed the problem spots just looks SO REAL! I am in awe....

Steve

Thanks Steve,
I have touched up the problem areas and they are again under the matte powder, off t work shortly but I should be able to start attaching quills tomorrow. which could take a while hehe.

THEN I will put it on and do a video to show how it fits and moves with me.
