Silicone P1 Suit Evolution. Pg41 Hands Video 19/07/13

George, the sculpt is mm thin in places, so the shims were NOT a option sadly.
When i did the P1 head mould, i used BALLS as location points and bolted it together, the balls were ok but a couple got stuck, so this time i decided to try the grooves instead, the gaps between the grooves will indeed be the places for the drill holes and then bolts. I will be drilling and bolting prior to me splitting it, to make sure they line up well.

Yes i will be brushing in the silicone, then cutting some foam for the muscles that need filling out, then brushing a layer of silicone to encapsulate the foam and keep it in place. I am hoping by brushing i can reduce the weight somewhat.

Then yes i intend on securing a lycra suit inside the actual silicone suit. :)

great work there lee hope things go well for you fella, will be interested in the weight of the skin when you have done it!!!!

Well, i got it finally finished at 11.15 last night, so i got up early today and decided to try crack it open.

5 minutes into the attempted opening and .......... DISASTER !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I got a fibreglass splinter in my finger which put my time schedule back by 2 minutes :)

haha, another 5 minutes and POP , the mould sprung open and off popped both sides. I have since washed the mould out , then bolted it back together, looking down inside the mould, the seems appear to be very tight which i am uber happy about. I have moved it to my shed to sit in a nice warm room for a few weeks to finish curing completely.
Just a Shame i will not be able to paint a pull in the next few weeks, as i am all pred hyper again.

And yes Predwolf, i will weigh the torso when it is done o_O

chrz my dears.
Lee.

Congrats on finishing it, I bet you were glad when it popped apart with no problems, must have been a bit nerve racking.

Yeah it was, i hate moulding , especially moulding in resin :) but its done now, so the fun part is next, whenever next it hehe o_O

Great job Lee. Your humbleness won't let you accept it but It will be one of the best suits around.
One of this days were going to kidnap you "Inception style" And plant the idea of you modling in resin. You'll see.you'll wake up postting: I decided to do resin busts! LOL
Keep up the great work

lol.

Thanks guys.

The silicone skin idea may yet fail for me, i mean so many have said i will have X Y or Z issues, but yet at least i am trying. even if i succeed, this is just another member for our pred masses. :)

and no resin busts for me Lem sorry o_O

Oh and Troggs, sorry i didnt reply to your question on the previous page, the fibreglass mould is easily strong enough as it is. o_O

Thanks Brad, as soon as my leg permits i will clean it up at the edges alittle more to get rid of those nasty jagged edges. i did as much as i could last night , trimming the edges before they fully set, but i was just way too tired by the end.

Nice work bubbles. One problem I see with your whole project that Im not happy with. MY BIG ASS WILL NEVER FIT IN THAT SKINNY THING! That is all.

Back to the clay throwing. So i spent 3 hours on this today getting it mostly blocked out, still quite rough but the details will hid most of that.

1st i coverd the hand in about 1-2mm in clay giving me enough room inside for my hands when the silicone glove(s) are made.

Then i just used a roller to thin out some clay and make the glove. I added a couple of veins just for the hell of it, but next i will be amending the glove and then elongating the fingers by approx 1/2 inch before i add the nails, to give me a overall look of the shape and structure of the hand before i move into detailing.

anyhoooooooooo.

pics huh.
