Silent Bob beard?

For Halloween this year, a buddy and I decided to be Jay and Silent Bob, I made up the costumes for us, gave them a test run, and they look great! And then I tried growing a beard. Seeing as I had never tried to grow one before, I didn't know how it'd come out. Apparently there are barren spots on my face that will just not grow facial hair, so my question is: How/where can I make/get a good fake beard for a Silent Bob costume?

I looked around a bit and found this beard here: Costumes of Nashua

The problem is that I want to have the mustache and the beard, and all of the mustaches on that site seem to be handlebar or continuous lip hair mustaches. Anyone have any other sources or ideas?

How long have you been working on the beard? I want to do this costume(Talked my wife into being Jay:) ) and I am giving my self a month to fill in the beard because mine grows really slow and is pretty patchy for a while.

It comes in about the right length after about three weeks, but the areas between the mustache and the chin don't grow, and between the chin and the sideburns don't grow, very weird, it looks ike a legitimate beard style, but not what I need. :unsure

Thanks, that helped me find to find this site: Beards & Moustache Sets

Item # CBM2 - CB4 - CM2

That way I can bring the beard up under my chin for that neck beard look that Kevin Smith has.

I'm thinking I'll order two of these and get some liquid latex to apply it with. Which brings up another question, is the liquid latex they sell at Party City alright to work with?

i did silent bob one year and couldnt get the beard grown in time so i used some fake hair chopped up and stuck to my face, it looked ok noone asked if it was fake etc

I did that once with my own hair for a student film project, it itched to high heaven, and I couldn't wait to get it off my face. It looked great, but I'm not willing to be that uncomfortable for an entire evening.

Thanks for the tip on the fake hair beard! We did a test run today with the costumes. I used liquid latex, and trimmings from the excess length of the wig for the beard. I must say, I have fallen in love with the liquid latex, it's so much easier to just peel off than scrubbing off spirit gum. Anyhoo, here's how it came out.
