I sent a group email out with ThinkJedi's info.

Let me know if you think you are part of the run but did not receive the email.

Thanks

PS - Still accepting members for this run.

I think I've sent invoices to everyone that's contacted me. If you haven't received an invoice from me, email me at the address Boba Debt posted.

So far no one has requested any machining services for the piston units.

Neither Bespin Blaster had the piston unit but some people add them to their blaster to dress up the left side, even though it isn't accurate.

I did this to my personal blaster.

So if you are buying the Piston unit for your Blaster I need to know because buying the raw cast requires a machining process to clean it up and if you want the Hoth Look you will need to also get the steel piston disks for the side details.

I've sent an email to you and thinkjedi for a raw cast scope and machining services only. I've already purchased the machined upgrade parts from the prior run.

Re: Limited Run > Luke/Han BESPIN ESB Blaster / Cast Brass M-19 Scope / Accurized Mau

I had paid for the piston parts from ThinkJedi, however I don't want to pay that much for the machining. I understand that if only a few people are having the service done the price would be a little costly. Do you have any of the black anodized pistons left over from your last run that I could purchase so I can avoid the expensive machining process for the ThinkJedi pistons I ordered?

Think Jedi I sent you an email but have not received an invoice. Should I send another email?

I have left over pistons from my ROTJ run but they are very different from the pistons used on the ESB Blasters.

The ESB Blasters used real or resin copies of the pistons from the Visible V-8 model and the ROTJ used a machined version that only look like the piston from the VV-8 model until you look closely

Here is a picture that compares them, the ESB is on top and the ROTJ is on the bottom

If you want to add the piston unit to the left side of your blaster I recommend the following

  • Use real VV-8 model pistons
  • Use resin copies. I have some on hand and during my last run I provided a modified resin piston unit to some members for a cost of $10
  • As a last resort you could use ROTJ pistons. I have some left in aluminum and Delrin. If you wanted the steel disk details on the side like the Hoth version machining the slot in the pistons could be tricky so I would rather grind away half of the steel disk. I did that for one member during my last run.

If the majority of the group wanted this detail I would have recommended the cast brass units but at this point the numbers are so low that it would be cost prohibitive to have them machined.

Perhaps ThinkJedi can chime in and let us know if he is willing to provide clean up for the the cast brass piston units, he did that prior to my machining process.

Can I have a set if resin pistons thrown in with my order?

Think Jedi I sent you an email but have not received an invoice. Should I send another email?

Weird. I sent you an invoice. Let me double check your email address and resend.

Payment sent to Think Jedi for scope but no pistons. I've received confirmation from Think Jedi that payment was received.

Corellian Exports has offered to machine the cast bronze piston units and is working on a price for the labor.

I will add it to the 2nd post update once he figures it out.

Re: Limited Run > Luke/Han BESPIN ESB Blaster / Cast Brass M-19 Scope / Accurized Mau

This might be a really stupid question but I tried to search for it last night and didn't come up with anything. These scopes, are they bored out just deep enough for the lenses or are they bored through?

Good question. I assumed they would be hollowed out like the original scopes.

The bored areas are a little deeper then just enough to mount the lenses.

My first batch in 2004 went all the way though but the only way you could tell was if you held it at just the right angle and pointed it toward the light.

It was very expensive process and the result wasn't worth it.

Here is a picture of a scope from the 2004 run (this run will not be like this) that was very difficult to get, like is said I had to hold the camera at just the right angle.
