Like most of you I received the email this morning about the $26 machining charge per set of 2 bronze piston halves and I was surprised because I didn't think it would very long for me to machine these and drill holes through them.

So I spoke with Bobadebt this morning about the possibility of machining these and he was ok with it. I also sent David Meyers an email this afternoon and he is fine with it as well.

So the price at this point will be $25 (per set of two bronze piston halves) to do the machining, regardless of the end total. Hopefully, this will help out any one who had planned on ordering the bronze piston halves.
And if it takes less time than I'm thinking to machine these, I'll drop my price for future runs.

The bored areas are a little deeper then just enough to mount the lenses.

My first batch in 2004 went all the way though but the only way you could tell was if you held it at just the right angle and pointed it toward the light.

It was very expensive process and the result wasn't worth it.

Here is a picture of a scope from the 2004 run (this run will not be like this) that was very difficult to get, like is said I had to hold the camera at just the right angle.

You're right, without the complex optics inside, its like the ROTJ scope front ends, with just two holes that don't meet perfectly.

The more that join, the less the kit will cost.

HOWEVER, once I place my order the Extra kits I buy to make the numbers will cost more.

It has to come from your email address.


Sending it via the RPF email system doesn't work because it is not a direct way to contact you and sending via PM doesn't work because there is no easy way to save a bunch of PMs.

It is weird that the Runs forum seems to move faster the the regular classifieds section

That would seem to indicate that there are a lot of projects happening.
