Re: Showoff Your Hellboy Props!

Hi,
a friend of mine made a lot of the screen used props for Hellboy I & II. If you click the link above my banner to my photobucket and click onto the Hellboy album on the left you'll see a few pieces he let me photograph. There's the big baby gun and troll catcher glasses etc.

Wish i could take credit for it but it was made by a talented friend of mine. All i did was outline what i wanted over several evenings and keep and eye on his progress. Wait till you see the rest of the costume ;)

Re: Showoff Your Hellboy Props!

No love for Abe Sapien on this thread? Ah well lets break that trend with my prop .

I love Abe!!! Your friend should offer them for sale in the Junkyard.

Re: Showoff Your Hellboy Props!

In the process of remodeling at the moment, or I would post pics. Not too much, but I do have the samaritan, right hand of doom, big baby, and angel of death bust all by sideshow, as well as a few paper props. Hopefully things will be set within the next couple of months so I can take pics of all the other props.

That is amazing. How did you make it? That is, did you build it up with plastic or shape sculpey and cast it or ??
Does it break open and the cylinder action?

I dont think he is on this forum and it was hell to make anyway :lol That is technically the second he made as the first went wrong due to both a huge seamline and thinning latex in the dome. He is busy on Green Goblin armour for another client currently ;)

Very nice indeed.
I don't suppose you'd ever consider producing a run of those reloaders? :angel

RE:The reloaders
Yes, I have 6 cast and ready for paint to go in the junk yard....;-)
As for the gun-
It does snap but there is no real mechanisim- its a push fit. The barrel does spin freely.
The case itself was a simple vacform I did. The hinge was piano hinge riveted to the case, the 'catch' is just made from heat bent styrene plastic.
The Foam is high density packing foam- easy to get from an upholstery type shop. If you get it in layers, you can cut one of the layers to the outline of the shape you need.
that way you have a super clean bottom to the foam when its layered up in the box, like a sandwich?.If its really dense foam you can get a surprisingly good cut with a nice serrated kitchen/bread knife...or a jigsaw. ;)
