Protos are all done, figured I'd share! This will probably only interest those who have struggled with phaser displays but I thought I'd post just the same.
I had two simple goals for these. I wanted a stand that wouldn't over-power the prop on display and one that would properly secure it without damaging anything. Just simple & clean...
I went with machined acrylic and aluminum. These have a small footprint and are sturdy as all hell. You're not going to tip anything over when reaching in and out of the case for these and nothing is going anywhere if you bump them. The small lips on the sides of the cradles prevent any slippage and I really like the way the prop is displayed 'level' without the handle touching anything.
The clear acrylic allows light to pass around and under the prop so they are perfect for glass cabs and they blend well with any background.
I used an MR phaser for the following pics but the fit is universal.
