After having worked for several years with primarily resin kits, I finally got around to doing my all time favorite Solo blaster: the GK. Here's the parts list:
1. Denix Mauser
2. Resin scope
3. Resin grill from CE
4. Real M9 Flash Hider
5. Metal scope mount from CE
6. Weaver scope rings
I painted the mauser and scope mount with semi flat black. I then went in before the paint fully cured and chipped away at the paint following reference photos. Once that was done, I took some Rustoleum Anodized Dark Bronze and lightly misted it in certain areas. Immediately after I misted it, I took some steel wool and wiped most of it away. I let that dry and then took the same steel wool and just gave the whole thing a good rub down. This gave it a greasy dirty look that I think looks great! For the resin grill and scope, I did the usual clean up, then shot it with krylon bright silver. Once that was fully cured, I shot it with semi flat black and quickly started scraping away to give it the scratched up look. Once it was fully cured, I gave it a light buffing with steel wool to give it a bit of sheen. The weaver rings were scratched when I got them, so I didn't have to do that myself. I have yet to finish the rear part of the scope, but I thought I'd post some pics for feedback in the mean time. Note, it's really dusty and has lots of steel wool covering it in these pics.
