show your sliders timer please?! original or custom

An utter travesty.

Hopefully it's just a case of loose wiring with the lights that stopped working, so hopefully it'll be a simple fix.

If only... :lol

Thanks for the support man !

When I exercise a compression on the chips row... That works again... I will have to add a plastic part inside the case, in order to push on the chips constantly !

I would just like to say 1st of all no one can be that stupid you knew what you were doing you took it apart I mean how dumb is that and now you want him to give your money back dude you did it yourself if you didn't tear it apart it would still be working so if anyone is at fault it's you not him.
what were you trying to do anyway modify it or were you trying to figure out how he did it and see how it worked I mean come on it's common sense if it's not broke don't try to fix it I mean are you that stupid get a life and grow up you screwed it up yourself he isn't the one who is at fault you are.

:rolleyes

No way he did that himself...
He couldn't make that circuit board look that bad if he had pried it apart with a crowbar.

I will kindly respond to that :unsure ....

I have just removed the circuit, in order to replace it inside a new case... I didn't touch to the component...

Now, in a personal note... I would like to be insulted of "stupid" or a "recaster apprentice" by someone who can spell "comma" and "syntax" correctly ...

BTW... a member since 2010, only 10 posts in a year... your last post was the 12-26-2010 .... I find this suspicious :rolleyes

But thanks for your nice advice ! I already feel the "grown up" now... And I even be a gentleman and didn't report your post !
I hope you will be proud of me Mom !

See if there is a noticeable dry solder joint or even a cracked track somewhere. It would be better to fix that if possible than to put pressure on a component or the board itself. That usually leads to further issues after time.

Are you nuts? He showed the unit as he received it before taking out the circuit board. It had issues before he took it apart. It is going to be a bit of a problem sorting through that rat's nest. Wiring that is all one colour might be good in an alarm system but does nothing for fault finding. We know how the circuit is wired as it has been published here. No need to "work it out".Have you even bothered reading the full thread? The whole thing has just been badly made and the circuit badly implemented.

A little grammar and syntax wouldn't go astray either. Trying to read two big seemingly endless sentences is not helpful.

Hey folks,

one back and forth is enough. If you want to post, do it in a substantial, respectful and civil manner.

BlckBane you sure seem to have a devote vested interest in defending this...

You seem to miss the details that are clear to everyone and for some reason beyond logic try to pass the issues surrounding the the build to the buyer, not the builder that actually, I don't know built it?

On to the errrr....prop... :unsure

First we have someone here that presumably purchased a 'finished' prop from another member...

Second we have pictures of the prop as it arrived, I'm hardly gullible enough to believe what I see is a result of the buyer handling the prop or looking at it funny... Does the seller have other photos to prove it was shipped in tip top condition and just happened to turn up at the buyers house that way? Heck where is the seller if he is a member of the RPF? He would be the best one to address these issues after all, wouldn't he?

So from there I will address a few issues as I SEE THEM that most everyone likely finds objectionable in regards to a finished prop on this forum where the standards are generally held very high... I have reduced the size of the pictures, if you need clarification of any notation please refer back to the original sized photo...

  1. Chipped, broken, chewed? The top side appears sanded?
  2. Gap, no filler, no side?
  3. I'm at a lose on this one, chewed by a dog?
  4. Battery warped and bulging at the seam?
  5. Blotches, dis-colorization? And it appears to be lifting off the black box...
  6. No bottom filler, just a big gap?
  7. Fitment issue, gap on the face plate?
  8. I don't know what to say about that print out...
  9. Wire to where?, and no filler to cover the hole?
  10. Serious fitment issues, as well as being crooked...
  11. As someone that has hand wrapped magnetic coils, yikes!
  12. Ice cube? Seriously the bottom edge isn't even cleaned up?
  13. Warp and bulge of the main body?
  14. GAP!
  15. Is that black electrical tape to cover the poor fitment and part of the FCN button as well? #4 button caving in?

And I will touch based on the electronics as I have offered electronics up to this hobby as well as other hobbies for over 2 decades now, if the circuit died and failed a few hours after delivered, and needs pressure applied to the chips to work there is a bad solder joint done by the seller, it's not the fault of the buyer for trying to salvage the electronics... Point to point wires is prone to failure, especially when there are 100s of point to points in a ratsnest with no organization...

I'm sure all involved would love some constructive responses to the issues vs the "I'm packing up my bags and going home so ban me" response such far... Key word 'constructive' responses, addressing the obvious issues of the build...

And we'd love to see some more quality electronics if possible Exoray.

There's also the elephant in the room which is the fact it's not even the correct model of phone. It doesn't even appear to be the somewhat forgiveable "alternative" MicroTAC that I've sometimes seen substituted for the Ultra Lite.

Yeah it's no where near the right phone and not one of the generally used 'DPC500' alternative models, it's a newer economy version of the big flips right before they dropped the flip on that size phone and released the small StarTAC flip line to replace the brick flips... Fond :unsure memories of making those silly phones, cranking out 1000s a day with a 6 day/54 hour mandatory work schedule and a +12 hour 7th day option anytime you wanted to kill yourself... I used to literally be able to assemble them start to finish with my eyes closed...

My still unmodified proper Ultra Lite and the 550 (alternative). Colour is just a lighting issue.

I hate when life just gets in the way of hobbies.

Life and Hobby are colliding into one right now, so the balance is really upset... This coming week will be telling on whether I have zero spare time or negative spare time, it certainly won't be excess spare time anytime soon...
