That badge collection beats all Eltee.

Seeing your LAPD collection, did you ever pick up badge book, "The Centurions Shield?"

My collection is in it...at least my original props from Dragnet, Adam 12, Police Woman, Police Story, etc. since the book is specifically on LAPD insignia. You'll see my name credited in there. The author is a friend.

Very interesting, you must have been collecting badges for a long time then.

A question about the CSI badges: Do the CSI's ever carry a badge or do they just have the id cards?

Depends on their job description, status and dept. Where I work, the CSI "investigators" are full police officers who came through the ranks. They have badges, IDs, carry guns and have to wear uniforms when called up. THe "technicians" and "analysts" are more of a scientific classification, so they wear raid type jackets with Crime Scene Investigations stenciled on them and do not carry guns since they are not police officers. In CSI:Miami, for example, the lead actor portrays a Dade County Sheriff/Metro Miami PD cop who was previously assigned elsewhere before transferring to CSI. He has a gun and badge. CSI:NY is similar with the role played by Gary Sinise.

The sworn cops assigned to CSI are in the field alot. Some of the techs stay in the lab and do their scientific work without seeing much daylight or moonlight but the field evidence techs go out and gather evidence the same as seen on TV...they just do so without guns or badges.

Some of the CSI techs who are not sworn police officers get a star that says Crime Scene Investigator but the badge does not say police or convey any real authority. These folks also have no arrest authority.

Clear as mud? :unsure

Yes...I have been collecting for decades.

I love that evidence room look to your prop displays Gary, and all the classics are there.....Nice one!

Yep, thanks for the info.

And to add, great collection as well, both here and the closeups in the book.

Do you by chance have anything from the Shield?

No props from the show. I have some T-shirts that were fan made. Thanks for the compliments.

Not mine, but I'd love to have a replica of this. This is supposedly a screen used prop.

I can't seem to find the thread anywhere, but if I recall correctly, that image was originally posted (by you, Jack Bauer?) to the "CTU Badge" thread started in the JY by DuneMuadDib for a second, more accurate run of his badges. The run was ultimately cancelled because of problems with the manufacturer, I think.

anybody have pics of the folowing Badges/Credentials:

Riggs and Murtaugh (Lethal Weapon)
Norman Stansfield (Leon/The Professional)
Crockett and Tubbs (Miami Vice)

A couple random shots from my collection.

I missed this message when it was added to the thread, but I've got to say that those are some really nice 007 props!

Any info on where you got the credentials and access card from?

Thanks,
Bruce

And the difference between the badges at the bottom. One is the same pattern as the badge, the other one is smooth. I've been watching the show and I've come to the conclusion that they badges used were the Flat Versions. I'm up to the last few episodes of Season 5 on my DVR, so I only have Season 6 and 1 + 2 to get to the bottom of this.

And I have to find a new supplier for the Smith and Warren citation bars since they guy has not started taking orders since November and aid he was going to. Sucks too as he had the lowest prices and the option to have drilled holes. I think the only place I will contact now about the holes will be to the actual manufacturer and see what they say.

Also, I've had some problems with the nametags and am hoping to get it resolved through a company.

Does anyone know where to get a decent replica Badge and ID for James Sonny Crockett from Miami Vice? I have looked on Ebay from time to time and not found one. I have a Crocket costume and would love to have the badge to show. Thanks!!

Spooky!! I was just going to ask the very same question.....I'm a huge MV fan and have always been on the look out for a Miami Police badge/Crockett ID set...

Any help folks?

Thanks,

Chris

Yep. The manufacturer was throwing a fit over the "Counter Terrorist Unit" verbiage. They wanted proof that I worked for said unit as it had the word "Terrorist" in it. Explaining to them that it was a fictional organization from a TV show didn't help.

I've toyed with the idea of trying again every so often, but every time the run was hard to get off the ground. I do at least still have the graphics files. Maybe one day.
