Show your Dr. Who props!

Full scale, operator-on-the -inside 2005 NSD .... just finished the last upgrades and repairs from MegaCon 2025 where our Builders Club has an Exibitor Booth every year. All systems are fully electro mechanical and controlled via an F-15 flight stick and 2 Arduino Unos:;eyestalk up/down, iris eye blink mechanism, dome rotation, plunger extension/retraction, gun firing including LED light saber effect, sound and compressed gas fog effect, LED 'anti gravity' effect via 600 blue LEDs, motorized wheel chair assemblies for movement and 3 cameras. One in front, one in back and one in eyestalk for dome position. 7" spilt screen monitor for front/rear camera and 3" screen for eyeball camera.
Here are a few pics with the Full 3 year build thread @ ProjectDalek.com under 'build diaries/2005 NSD/Dalek Nim for anyone wanting to see all the nitty gritty details ...

I've also completed the following screen accurate cosplay outfits:
10th Dr Who
Mandalorian
Bo Katan
Jane Cobb (FireFly)
And most recently ... Cooper Howard AKA The Ghoul where I was a finalist at the 2025 MegaCon Masters of Cosplay contest

Yes, I have no life ...
That is one seriously sexy Dalek and the electronics are phenomenal, nice work

DalekNim That is s close to a real Dalek as you can get!! Some people forget that there is a creature inside the Dalek that operates everything. If a genetically engineered blob needed a conveyance they'd want yours.

Yeah it's kinda funny that the Daleks some of us have built are actually on another level as compared to the ones built for the show ... those Daleks have no where near the sophistication since typically there are 3 or 4 prop guys off camera making individual systems work and many times they just need one 10 sec shot so their Daleks don't have to be able to be driven around a Con for 8 hrs at a time ... lol.
Us individual builders have to create a fully functional, completely independent robot with an operator on the inside. Obviously not everyone does what I did (yes, I have no life) but there are some spectacular builds on Project Dalek ...

Someone on a DW forum recently discussed the Troughton recorder and its variants. It prompted me to dig this out. Here's my version of the season 4-6 recorder, done some years ago. Cheap plastic recorder, but visually identical to Troughtons S 4-6 recorder, which , IIRC was a vintage wooden Moeck soprano.

The recorder is very cheap so I've long wanted to redo this with a much better and cleaner paint job.
