While the final product is just stunningly beautiful (and reasonably priced) , the 45$ postage to Europe is killing it for me. That's 41% of the total price (and customs might even increase that further)

I don't think I'll be able to justify that. (Though I'm struggling with myself here)

Unfortunately that is the only option to ship with insurance and tracking number. There is an option $16 USD (Small packets - air) but it doesn't have the insurance nor tracking. Although I never had any problems shipping it this way in the past, I have to state that I am not taking responsibility for the package lost or damaged during shipping. I will have photo etched sets based on the number of people who are interested. After that whatever is left will eventually sell out and that should be it. I am thinking 2-3 months?
