sculpting EVA help

Hello, I've been working hard honing my cosplaying skills and I think I'm ready to do some of my favorite armor! Madness ore armor from Oblivion! Unfortunately since I'm on my phone I can't add a picture, but trust me when I say it's spiffy. The armor has a lot faces all over it. My plan was to make the armor from floor mats but here's my problem: the noses extend farther than the EVA foam would. So can I just build onto those areas with apoxie sculpt? I'm trying to stay away from expandable foam since the amount of detail in this armor is bordering on criminally insane and I might curl up into a ball and die if I accidental shot foam into an area I've already carved. So yes, advice would be awesome! Thanks, guys!

For the amount of detail that is in this armour, maybe look into worbla? as its a thermoplastic and if you mess it up just reheat and try again, but with foam take out to much and its ruined and foam will crack after a while, messing up the work anyways. Hope i could help.

I was actually thinking another possibility would be to glue on the parts that stick up too far in EVA foam and cover the whole thing in Worbla just to give it a uniform look. I think although it will be more expensive, that might be the better bet.

Yup, you can layer/stack your eva up to the height you'd like, and then carve it back down with the dremel. I just use a couple of different-sized sanding 'drums' to knowck all the sharp edges back down before sealing and smoothing with silicone/pva/plastidip. You just have to be careful, the dremel can get away from you pretty easily and try to bite the foam :)

Thank you for your input! I'm pretty good with a dremel *knock on wood*. I like the idea of putting Worbla over the whole thing because in case the dremel does get away from me a bit, I can cover it up. Plus, I just ordered the Worbla :D
