Scott Pilgrim Shirts and Costume Thread

Well, IF the shirt was long (and it may not have been), they might have hemmed it to make it not wrinkle up so much at the belt, maybe to make him look taller (the guy is tiny, comes up to about my nose.) He is the hero, and you don't want a short hero.

That being said, the canvas shirt does have the largest chest to length size gap I've ever seen on a shirt.

After trying mine on, I'm inclined to agree. I went XL banking on it being closer to American Apparel length, but it turns out I could have easily went L (will probably grab one in the second run).

My real reason for posting this, though, is to show off my avatar, which is a cumulation of my wardrobe efforts and is in what's hopefully a very recognizable setting.

The Air Quotes shirt is actually a fitted one, so I wouldn't go with it unless you are a chick. And until I see where the Birdie shirt got cut from the movie, I'm probably going to hold off on that one because the colors seem a tad too light, and it's pretty expensive at $26.

I'd love to see a larger version if you care to post it. Did you get the hat yet?

There's a bigger version as my profile picture, where you can actually tell I'm wearing the hat. That's the best I can do at the moment with the horrid wifi here. I'll have more shots posted when I get home this week. Sonic Boom, Second Cup, Casa Loma, Pizza Pizza, . . .

I would be interested in a vegan police shirt. I know the logo was on the back, but does anyone remember what was on the front?

I've tried to find a good picture of the front, but I was unsuccessful. I rewatched a crappy capture of that scene to see. I think it is just a smaller version of the Vegan Police logo on the left chest, but I'm not positive. That seems consistent with most of the police department t-shirts I have seen. If other people want to make a run of those, that would be cool. I need to make the logo more screen accurate, though. I couldn't find a font that matches exactly, but I can modify what I have. Also, the lines in the points of the star are not exact. On the real logo, they are each different and uneven for some reason.

Has there been any luck finding a hunting cap similar to the one Cera wears in the film?

Anyway, this came in the mail today.

I saw it last week and it looked to be green text, but I couldn't make out what it said.

Threw these together as no one seemed to be attempting them. Please excuse the awful mobile phone pics!

Wonder if anyone is planning to tackle the CBC, Astroboy or quotation marks shirts?

Here's where I'm at so far.

Also, rpat, those look pretty cool! I have a screen of the CBC logo done, I just have to test it out on my shirt, but haven't had a chance because of work so far.

Just a couple things with your shirts. If I remember correctly, the Sharpie shirt in the movie doesn't have the Registered symbol on it. As for the Fantastic 4 1/2 one, I think the logo on that could stand to be moved down a bit, and be a little bit bigger. Also, I'm not sure what the exact colors of the logo are. I think it was just a dark navy -- not sure what you used, though. Hope this helps!

Thanks Setzer, that does help, and yeah I agree with your points exactly. Hopefully with more time and better resources I could have done a more accurate job, but just knocked these up for fun really. I've nowhere near the level of expertise others on this forum have shown. Some really great stuff being produced here. Just wish the mass produced shirts beginning to appear in stores were half as good as the replicas you forum members are creating. Keep up the good work guys!

I'd be interested if you were going to do a CBC shirt. I've not been able to locate a ringer shirt in a dark enough grey to try my own.

I don't know if anyone's posted this already cuz this is a long thread, but Plumtree was an awesome Canadian indie band in the 90s and you can buy a Plumtree shirt from their site here: Plumtree: Shop.

I checked the bands webstore before the movie came out to see if I could get the right Plumtree shirt. I don't think it says Mass Teen Fainting on the back like the black one in their webstore does.

If anyone's still looking for the parka, I think I found one that is pretty much exactly like it:

Looks like the smaller sizes are gone or going fast, but it might be worth keeping an eye on the online store to see if any more come in.

And that's why we have the no posting links to ebay rule. Except for the main body fabric, that one looked spot on.

I actually found mine at Old Navy after going back a few times trying to see if they had a good one for the Fantastic 4 1/2 (they didn't). They have a lot of close enoughs, but no exact matches except for the CBC shirt. I managed to snag mine during back to school, so it was only $6, but they're regularily $8 so even that's not bad.

EDIT: Also, if you centered the Sharpie logo a little more, and chopped of the Registered dealie I'd be in the market for one of those if you're willing to sell.

FURTHER EDIT!: That's where I ordered mine from. It doesn't have Mass Teen Fainting on the back (thinking of adding it myself). Actually, I'm not sure if they're just sold out or what, but they actually sent me one of the tvstoreonline.com shirts. The only thing I hate about it is the collar fits like it's been stretched out by someone with a really big head.

I have the exact coat that JacknJive posted a link to. While it is a good facsimile of Scott's coat, I would not say it's spot on. Also, I got mine at the local thrift store I work at, and it was made by JCPenny. So there is bound to be many more kicking around.
