Scarlet Spider 1st timer

looking fantastic so far! it looks like you have everything covered! we need to have a clone party at a con sometime!

I can't wait to see more!! (...now I wish I was entering the costume contest too haha!)

I just figured why not, I don't know anything about the judging but I would like to at least make it to the night show. Either way I love my suit.

Well damn! That is excellence right there. The ankle pouches, belt, and web cartridges look dynamite! Like you stepped right off the page, man...

Thanks JOE! I'm super excited! Love your progress on your suits. Your black Spidey suit came out bad azz!! Love what ya did. Looking forward to meeting you in person at the ECC.
EXCELSIOR!!!!!

I'm in the early stages of a Ben Reilly Scarlet Spider build too. This thread is an great guide for a scratch built suit, although I'm thinking about having my spiders embroidered onto my hoodie rather than airbrushed.

Thanks for the props man. The embroidered spiders would be awesome. IronJoe did something like that on his symbonite suit that might help you out on that if you need a hand there. I can't sew for nothin so airbrush was the route I took for my first time. Glad I could help and good luck. I'll keep an eye on you to see when your Ben Reilly suit is complete. Good luck and thanks again.

The more I think about it the more I feel I need to make the web back pack. I have the next two days off so I'm gonna give it a shot. NO IDEA WHAT I'M doing, but hey no risk, no reward......

web pack for sure! you can keep all of your gear/items from the con in there, i am going to attempt to make mine out of a white/grey helmet or semi circular object and wrap it in white/grey yarn leaving an opening for items. check my build thread out as well I'm making a scarlet spider build for the chicago C2E2 in april. let me know what you think!

OH YEA! Most defiantly will. Thanks for the info, drawing stuff up now for the pack.

Kind of cheesey I know but I'm out shopping for supplies. I have some ideas now, thanks fellow RPF'ers, and now I'm on the hunt.

Ok done shopping. I found some items I'm pretty excited about. I wanted the pack to be white, but not to white and light weight. It also has to be functional. Stay tuned true believers, we're cooking now.

So I've used a double strength cardboard for the back and hit glued it to the dome. I then used industrial strength clear tape to reinforce the back. I cut a hole in the top large enough to put my hand in and my wallet, cell phone , and camera. Now I'm wrapping it with yarn. I have an elastic .58mm string I'll tie into the yarn for the shoulder straps.

Ok it's late and the hot glue is called HOT glue for a reason. This is where I'm at so far.

That looks professional!! Nice work!

How are you planning to finish it? I like the idea of a "wet look" for the webbing - maybe coating the entire thing with a lacquer after painting it?
