Scanff's First Build

Hi all,

I thought I'd share my build with you. It's the first one and I'm not much of an artist, airbrushing is new for me. It's in the early stages and I'm still experimenting with a few things. Having said that:

Firstly the mask which is a P1 Ruffkins-toys.

I then decided to do a little work on the armor, yes very rough but it's more to figure out the fit. I used foamies.

I used the Mt Incredible suit, I'm a tall broad guy so I got the XXL so it took a couple of weeks to latex it. I also cut off the legs and will be attaching them. It was too hard to position a 6'6” duct tape manikin while I was applying the latex.

I have just started applying the base coats so there's not too much detail yet.

I Also purchased, hands feet and gauntlets which I'll work on later.

Thanks for all the amazing information on this site and everyone for sharing it!!!

Looking good!  I like the armor, much better than my attempt with foamies!
Yeah foamies are a pain, I backed them with cardboard and duct tape to give them a little strength.

So I did a little airbrushing on the torso.  It came out darker than I wanted but I kinda like it.  It's not complete yet, my carpal tunnel starting playing up :(

So far so good man.  Detail work like that can wear you down but it's totally worth it in the end.  Should make for a nice suit.  (y)

Looks great! :) where did you get your hands and feet?
I got the mask, hands, feet and gauntlets from ruffkins-toys on ebay.  A great guy and will make it for you, just send him a message. I think the mask is the only P1 prop. he has.  I know he has full wolf and P2 costumes and a full xenomorph suit.

So my hands and feet are going to be wolf with P1 mask and armor.  Although I could not resist purchasing a wolf mask from him the other day so who knows maybe it will end up a predator mash-up.

I like the hands!  How are the hands size-wise?  The ones I have are great but paired with the Ruffkin feet, are not proportional to each other at all.

Being a tall guy my hands are big the gloves fit me nicely,  I guess about a human XL so not to scale.  I've not started on the feet yet but they do look massive next to the hands.

***Oh funny thing tho.  I'm going to have to sand out the end of the gauntlets because I can't fit my hand through them, lol.

I've been working on the LED driver for the gauntlet lights. I'm using an Arduino connected to a TLC5940 driver to run the countdown lights and any other lighting.  The nice thing with the TLC5940 chip is it can be daisy chained so you can run as many leds as needed.  The only issue I'm having is figuring out how to run this and the voice modifier from one Arduino.  Here's a pic of the breadboard I soldered up.

Well my airbrush broke so while I wait for a replacement I started working on a backpack. Here's a few pictures of the process. The main frame is foam board.

I'll post more once I add the details and paint.

So I finished the backpack/med kit and started spraying it with plastic dip. All my foamie details are puffing up has anyone else experienced this? I'm kinda pissed right now after spending a few nights on this I'm worried It's ruined.

Here's a pic.
