Scammer , recaster warning : latest alias Loganprops, recent alias Snikt Shop

Re: Another recaster, and i think this time, I'm done..

Great, I have the honor of being the first person in Grifter's latest complaints. :) Now, I know this is probably besides the point, but good old Jim posted a picture of Len Wein 'posing' with the claws he made. Is it just me or do those arms look *completely* photoshopped in? No shadow from them, a black pencil line that looks like mspaint on the arm with the watch, the sudden skin color change at the wrists, and just general large size of the hands in comparison to his arms...am I just paranoid, or is this another way of Jim making himself look better then he is?View attachment 218435

It's not photoshopped, I went into detective mode and found out that Len Wein was at Big Red Comics as a guest and Jim was there to meet him dressed up as wolverine with those very same claws in the photo...

You win this round Jim...

Re: Another recaster, and i think this time, I'm done..

Doesn't prove crap. They could have been at the same place, same time. He could have snapped a generic photo of Len and later shopped in the hands. That would explain the generic smile photo. Trust me, if Len had posed with the claws he would have struck a better pose and facial expression. And as a photoshop user for a career.... I can tell you that photo is ALL WRONG! That is a sad attempt at photo manipulation. Hell... The skin is a completely different person from mid forearm. It is just so bad!! I'm sure Len would love to see that photo.

Re: Another recaster, and i think this time, I'm done..

The photo is clearly photoshoped. Just look at the wrists and hands. There's another where Jim /David /Whatever is stranding next to Wein and it's also an altered image. What's amazing is nobody on his page seems wise to this.

Re: Another recaster, and i think this time, I'm done..

I find it hilarious that the guy posted another photo as 'proof' that he was there will Len, and it looks even faker than the first one! Ok ok, let's give him the benefit of the doubt, and say hey, maybe Len did wear his claws, ok fine. But why is Jim/Logan/whatever in normal clothes in his other photos of the event? Why is that one horribly shopped looking photo of him in costume? Just a thought. If I had met my 'idol' there would have been a lot more photos taken. Doesn't really matter as his mindless fans still defend him no matter what.

EDIT:

After further searching I have indeed found other photos of the event with him both in costume and as Wolverine in normal clothes. Keep in mind that they are all his photos that he tagged the comic book store in, so anything's possible I suppose, but they appear legitimate.

Re: Another recaster, and i think this time, I'm done..

To all the new people from the FB post.
Hi and welcome to the board.
Please take a little time and read this thread, especially the early one;
yes its long, there is some name calling but try to keep a little objectivity till the end.
If you have some questions, feel free to ask on this thread.
And after all the info and evidences, you are still not convinced, then that is your opinion and right.
My thought is that no matter what is presented, some people will not be convinced of it.
Case in point, i had just had a posting on my FB page with just the word "recaster".
No further explanation on what, who and where.
And i fully expect to get more of this in the coming days.

Hi and welcome to the board.
Thank you for your support.
I had already early, decided not to have this person influence me in my life in anyway.
So, i will continue to share my work.
And I will be looking fwd to hear about your stories in the fx industry.

The helmet is cast from urethane plastic and not vacuum formed.
This is my build thread if you would like to see more details.

I do offer untrimmed, raw helmet kits for those who wanted to finished the helmet on their own.
So, that's how he could have gotten his hands on them.
My 2 dogs was sweating about the inside man remark. ;)

I have to admit that Sniktshop is very skilled in the art of manipulating and miss directing
people.
" Hey, they accused me of not making stuff, so here is all my pics of the stuff i've made.
But pay no attention to the recasting and the people i have scammed."
That is classic miss direction.

Re: Another recaster, and i think this time, I'm done..

This should be damning enough....Yet no one listens....

Re: Another recaster, and i think this time, I'm done..

No one listens because most of his defenders have never purchased anything from him, so they've lost nothing. It's odd, though, that some think we're just random "impatient trolls" picking on this "nice guy" for no reason. i can't believe anybody who sees the many threads about this criminal would ever send him a single penny......

Re: Another recaster, and i think this time, I'm done..

It sickens me the way you show them evidence and they act like it doesn't exist.

I just don't get it.

Re: Another recaster, and i think this time, I'm done..

I ordered some stuff from his last year, and after numerous times trying to contact him and getting now response I put it all on his facebook also made contact with other people on his page. still to no avail nothing was ever really done, then miraculously sometime later items just showed up, low quality and not incredibly well put together. Either way he is not going to quit.

Re: Another recaster, and i think this time, I'm done..

lol I love how one of his shop statuses he mentions my remark of him being a s*** wolverine. Also, if the guy wasn't lying, he wouldn't constantly be defending himself over and over and over. The people buying from him are complete idiots. A guy who recasts toys has REAL talent.....Right.

Re: Another recaster, and i think this time, I'm done..

Here is my reply to the "recaster" comment on my FB page.

Re: Another recaster, and i think this time, I'm done..

I've never seen so much fraud occur to or through a website as RPF.
This website desperately needs a transaction feedback system. In every other forum I go to, each user has their own feedback rating/thread. This means you can track anyone's reputation, which means you can sell to and buy from members more confidently.
It works exactly like Ebay feedback. You go to a person's thread and post feedback. If the transaction went smooth, you don't have to go into detail about anything. Just say "quick, reliable" or something. But if something went wrong, you can post details. If Snikt Shop "Logan" sent a mole here, or came here in disguise, you can more easily track him/that person, and find out how he got his hands on a Magneto helmet (or any other thing he's stolen from RPF members).
There are far more transactions done in blind faith in this forum than I've ever seen anywhere else.

I completely agree, though, to be fair, I don't think any of the transactions have been conducted on the RPF. He may have somehow purchased RacerMachX's helmet though this site (but I don't think that's the case). My transaction and it seems like most others were via FB.

He had been recommended to me on another costuming site, and before contacting him, I looked for any information on his company. I found nothing - no positive or negative feedback. I followed him on FB and everything seemed legit until the deadline for my prop passed and he stopped answering emails. About a week later, the infamous DA review appeared, and other victims began appearing, much to my dismay.

I contributed to the DA review and mentioned Snikt shop on other forums, hoping to warn others. I'm glad this thread has appeared, as any customer looking for a recommendation will now be fully informed.

Re: Another recaster, and i think this time, I'm done..

It wouldn't hurt to protect our RPF territory with feedback threads.

I don't think a feedback system is necessary, because quite honestly it's not difficult to figure out if someone has a bad reputation here or not. THe potential to get screwed by a stranger is always going to be apparent, but due diligence and common sense go a long way here. Just MTC....

Re: Another recaster, and i think this time, I'm done..

So I was at walmart tonight and decided to do a little research for Jim. I figured I might help him pick his next project. ;)

I don't know what MTC means.
Having feedback threads is very useful. Having a section of the forum dedicated to reputation feedback keeps records up front. You don't have to go digging through pages of unrelated threads. I've never seen a feedback section misused. Sure, we don't need them, but they're a lot more helpful than you probably assume. All the places I've seen with feedback threads, they've done nothing but help.

Re: Another recaster, and i think this time, I'm done..

Just saw this post. It always saddens me to see work copied, worse to see it copied and sold as original work.

Re: Another recaster, and i think this time, I'm done..

MTC, mtc, m2c = "my two cents"

No matter how much I've been seeing this lately, I still have to stop and think for a moment...
