Scammer , recaster warning : latest alias Loganprops, recent alias Snikt Shop

Re: Another recaster, and i think this time, I'm done..

Thats what i brought up in my previous comments.

I also think that the people following him are uninformed or do not understand recasting ( ex. someone who sews a costume probably do not understand the meaning of pouring rubber on a prop to get a exact copy; it does not work for cloth props and costume) or
just don't care; The low morally challenged.

So, let me get this straight,
Another Jim Logan was impersonating me, Jim Logan aka Sniktshop aka Iamyourheros aka...
and taking your money. But order and send the $ to me , the real jim logan, aka ... and hopefully its the real jim logan this time.
What?????:confused:confused:confused

On a more positive note, i have been getting a lot of support from everyone.
But i especially appreciate the support from the cosplay, prop, entertainment industry.
These are prominent players in their field and people i respect and admire.
They understand recasting and the efforts to making props.
Whats more, they have connections to the large corporate companies (game, comic, movie industry). And have made it clear that Sniktshop has effed himself.
So the word is spreading peeps.(y)thumbsup:thumbsup
Thanks everyone.

Good to hear! Ya he's pretty screwed...And what's happening to him lately is just the beginning. His days are numbered. Slowly but surely he's digging his own grave. We're just giving him the shovels....

Also, thought I might share this as I've been watching him and he's looking into this "InternetReputation.Com".... A site where you can pay a firm to "fix your rep online" by loading the web with good stories about you?

Desperation is a stinky cologne....

Re: Another recaster, and i think this time, I'm done..

But what is it actually does work for him and fixes things?

It is interesting to note that the site itself is a scam (and its mostly known for hiding mugshots...hmm...). If he was scammed by the scam reputation company it would be very ironc....

Near as I can tell they spam the Internet with positive stories about you so if someone googles you they get all sunny-peachy stories of you.....

As you can see, they also post reviews about themselves, as themselves, just like Jim Logan does on his own pages!

Re: Another recaster, and i think this time, I'm done..

So it's like Yelp for recasters lol

Re: Another recaster, and i think this time, I'm done..

Reading and laughing at this guys posts have become a daily occurrence. Especially all of his 'loyal customers' who have never bought a single thing from him. And even if they had, the quality of his work is not the issue. It's the fact that he takes STORE BOUGHT TOYS (who actually DO have copy rights to them you ****ing idiot) or other member's work he's bought or 'stolen from their house' (I'm not up to date with that claim yet) and uses them in his projects. Which, if they were for personal use, I wouldn't really care, but he makes copies and then sells them to others. He has NO problem straight up admitting that he recasts store bought items, but God forbid someone calls him out on using their own hard work. This guy is such a tool bag, and while I don't wish he dies, I really hope he gets what's coming to him. I wonder if he realizes a lot of us 'nameless, miserable people' are actually well placed throughout Hollywood and other areas of this hobby. To think we are all a bunch of teenagers out to get him and ruin his life with cyber bullying is hilarious, and a mistake on his part. We are simply putting his BS out there for the world to see in hopes of saving a few people's hard earned time and money, which could be well spent on someone who doesn't use children's toys to do half their work.

Of course, he just posted this thread directed in his post, so he just did some of the work for us. However, I doubt any of his 'loyal customers' aka clueless followers will read it, and the ones who do probably won't care as long as they get the prop they want.

BTW, Jim/James/Whatever name you're going by today, screen cap all you want. The cops or whoever you show them to are going to laugh in your face about why you are complaining that people are calling you out on your BS. Although I would bet money that you edit them, just like you delete comments from people you've screwed over that do what we do here, CALL YOU OUT ON YOUR LIES. Can't wait to read your next 'Please feel sorry for me facebook!' post later today.

Re: Another recaster, and i think this time, I'm done..

I'm a big fan of hiding your brand inside a helmet in the sculpt if at all possible. Its a great way to find a recast because most recasters don't even bother to remove it

Re: Another recaster, and i think this time, I'm done..

Logan's posts are hilarious and ridiculous. It's wonderful that the truth is finally coming out to a wide audience.

Re: Another recaster, and i think this time, I'm done..

Did he legally change his name? Is he no longer David Winant? Or did he change it to escape his prior criminal record from Florida?

Re: Another recaster, and i think this time, I'm done..

Simply put, he literally has no idea who he's screwing with. He can lie to all the fans that aren't buying his stuff anyway, but he can't lie to people that matter. So many people know of his misdeeds now. This thread has gone beyond the rpf and Facebook....

He just hasn't felt the repercussions of the other sites yet, but he will....

I'm still getting messages from people's he's wronged, there isn't a week that goes by that I don't....

Re: Another recaster, and i think this time, I'm done..

I think the "broke into someone's house " comment ( which no one on the board has ever said) is aimed at me.
I believed it was his argument that since he did not get it directly from me, that it could not be the same helmet.
Again, like i stated before, it does not matter how the helmet got to his hand ( trade , sold.. by someone else).
The main issue is that, he did not make the original, as he claims and
he is selling exact copies for profit and credit of creation.

If he wish to bring the police to this matter, then I believe that a case for mail fraud could be support on this end.
I think a call to the people scammed by Sniktshop should bring more than enough evidence to support this.

His tirade about legal counsel and sullying his good name sounds so much like Videobob's claims that he was going to sue multiple people from GBFans, it's spooky.

Re: Another recaster, and i think this time, I'm done..

RacerMachX ...

You big meanie!

Just kidding!!!

I was directed to this post on the FB RPF site... and was from the first moment, highly dubious, but not knowing either of you, had to be neutral.
I clicked the link here, but for some reason only got the original post, no responses this morning (Aug 10 2013). That made me go back and post a comment saying "you need to show proof" (very paraphrased, but the jist of it).

I was Grifter who directed me back here, and I got to read the whole thing.

Now... a little history... I have been doing this stuff... not replicas, but film induxtry FX for 21 yrs,
Rufus Hearn - IMDb
and stage for half a decade before that (I was the art dept head for "Scenic Technologies" in the early 90s big international outfit)

You presented what is in my opinion absolute proof positive as to the fact that this is a recast... but the question I have is not about the recast of one of your helmets... but how the HELL did he get a hold of one of your unaltered casts... the tool mark issue of the filler forms from the buck, I mean.

He, undoubtedly, had either access to you actual vacuform positive, or had a complete pull from one of the vacuformed pieces before it was finished.

This, my dear man, is an inside job, or you were raided.

AS I said above, and provided links for, I have a hell of a lot of history with this type of stuff, and have dealt with this kind of crap... you'll get through it.

Below is a copy/paste of my response after looking at only a couple pages of this thread this morning. Please disregard the words "apparently" and "allegedly" - there's not one shred of doubt in my mind this was your work.

Sorry this happened to you, RMX. Guy is a first class ****** bag.

... and you or anyone else can quote me on any of this.

Re: Another recaster, and i think this time, I'm done..

{ This was my post on the FaceBook RPF page - as I said there, and I believe here - I retract all those PC "apparently" and "allegedly" bits I so carefully put in there... there is no doubt here: }

My thoughts, looks like a recast to me (edit DEFINITELY IS ONE). If so... man, I know your pain, brother.

BUT - in your original post, you say how you are going to suspend orders... "Bad Apple Syndrome".

Please don't let it get you pulling your product from the market because someone else (apparently) couldn't meet your level of replication/quality.

The fact that he (allegedly) did a recast to begin with is due to the fact he was being outshone on the helmet. If you suddenly pull out of the market, you are now giving him, by default, a better thing than if he hadn't had to recast in the first place. You would hand him his perfect world as a reward for his malfeasance.

Do your thing, make your pieces... be the artist you are and stand your ground. "Shake your fist at the storm" as it were. But don't let someone else doing a foul deed because your product is too good for him to stand up to make you cave in. Or it is you who falls to obscurity, and he who wins...

... and none of us want a recaster to win.
(again, "alleged" I have to say... but MAAAAAN is it looking like the case!!!)

Not to try to be all "grandpa-ey", but really, look me up on IMDb - Rufus Hearn - it is only about 30% or so of my work, and doesn't even touch the stage work... but I have been through the trenches, to be certain.

Rufus Hearn - IMDb

Re: Another recaster, and i think this time, I'm done..

Sorry to bring up old drama, especially being a noob but I thought some of the people here could use this info.

Those of you that have placed orders with this guy and never got anything can file a protest with either the Florida Attorney General or the California Attorney General. Depending on where he was when your order was placed and money exchanged hands. This can be filed under mail/wire fraud and is a felony with federal prison time in both states and a fine.

I've been a lurker here for a while but am part of a few other sites that have had similar people and issues.

As far as the recasting goes, I have no experience with those issues but the poor ethics behind it speaks for itself. I would highly suggest some kind of stamp on the mold and other variations (like to tool marks) to be able to distinguish your work. Karma always catches up to these kinds of people.
